Creatives in the field. Have you ever jumped to Sr. Consultant, then left to a non consultant role? How does the move look if we don’t want to be a consultant anymore? Curious what others have done.

Been since May 23rd that I’ve completed my background check. Called the 3rd party company and they said the background check has been sent to the hiring company for review as of last Friday. Should I wait another day before following up with my recruiter about the status of the background check? I don’t suspect there to be any crazy thing, but I’m just anxious. I’ve just never had a background check take at or over a week. Advice?

Having tough time deciding between IB & Consulting. My thought process: I have a "better" background for IB (TAS/valuation) and with tech layoffs, this might push more potential would-be tech applications to pursue consulting (there by increased competition)? Additionally, you can do IB intern and full time consulting but not vice versa. I prefer consulting, but IB seems like the "safer" option? And if consulting does get hit hard, I would hopefully have a full time IB offer via internship.

About to post a job w/ HC software co (~550 employees). Need someone who can manage relationships w/ cons/analyst firms that advise health plans on pop health software / serve as SI's, & relationships with Big Tech (MSFT, Oracle, etc). If a company sends you an offer, and you send back a counter offer...can they rescind your offer and go with the next candidate? Or are you fairly safe if you counter, you just might have to accept the original offer?

Got an offer at a startup Sr BI Analyst for 120k base and 10k in equity. I had an informal call with the new manager today where he told me these numbers and I said I would take a day to think - they sent over a formal letter via Rippling.

Im going to counter offer in the morning, I guess by sending an email? Thinking about aiming for 5k bump in base and 10k bump in equity? Is that unreasonable?

I recently learned that my colleague makes $10k more than I do for the same role and we have the same experience. Completely understand it’s my fault for not doing a great job with negotiating my salary. I’m afraid I’m doomed in my current company & will always be on the lower end of the pay range. Received a job offer via video call. The hiring manager was thoroughly providing pertinent information and everything was going well. Then as she said, “…with a starting salary of…” the connection cut out. 🤣 Came back on as she was explaining the time period for bonuses.

I am expecting an offer going from client coordinator to clinical qa manager. I am struggling to find a market value for this position. This is on Long Island. When looking up qa manager positions I am coming up with 125k-160k, but this would be my first management role and I only make 50k currently. Hello All, Office Sup. for a major hospital, w/ 15 years experience. I have lots of experience in every position in the office, especially in training. I recently applied for an EPIC trainer position within the company and according to Glassdoor the average pay is about 23k more than what I currently make. I’m afraid of getting a lowball offer since 1. they obviously know my current salary and 2. I’d be new at this particular role, although I meet qualifications. Any advice if that’s the case?

Has anyone here ever been on the receiving end of a PIP? Ie 30 day performance review? What was your experience during that window and leading up to (hopefully) quitting to take another job or getting fired? Do people just ride it out and accept their fate and interview their tails off? Would love to hear how they were treated, what mental toll it had, and how to accept you were getting fired before you got fired? And telling coworkers?

Just have to say - at the beginning of the year I jumped ship where I was (a bank) where I was making $39k a year, to another bank where I am making $45k a year and have a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks work from home schedule. My new company is great and it was a significant raise. Now, this inflation is absolutely killing my wife and I, since we had a lease renewal happen last month. Would I be out of line to ask for a raise after 6 months? I know my coworkers all make at least $5k more a year than me.

Currently make base $250k plus 25% bonus and started Meta with 200k in stock. Cont… Friday came and went no communication. I allowed another weeks to pass and then sent another follow up email. She responded by apologizing not following up and informed me that recruiting handles that part of the process . What i didn’t mention was she had told me that if I get the position she would let me know and if I didn’t get it she would still give me a call . I was offered a new job in Internal Audit/ Consulting role at my current employer. W/ a jump in pay-grade level, 1 level (Hay Grade 16 to 17), and a 20% increase in salary ($108K to $130K) and 5% increase in potential bonus pay-out (10% to 15%). I was looking for $150K (39%) but am happy to get $140K (30%). How should I go about doing this?
