While everyone’s situation is unique, it appears to me that there is a general (and substantive) difference between the mindset of senior execs/partners (Gen Xers) and the Gen Z/Millennial troops as to the need to head back to the office. There is a world of difference between “the office” as code for “client lunches, rounds of golf” vs “needless commuting time that will eat into a working day that is already unsustainable”. Do you feel your organization is in touch with where you are?
Can anyone recommend any trainings or certifications to up my game? I am a project manager and feeling lost after joining back from maternity leave. It’s been 8 months now
“Why are you so cranky right now? Cheer up, the sun is out today!” -PM to Creative Director 10 mins after telling him the client killed a project he spent 3 months working on due to budget cuts
Hello 🐠, I have been on a project that I do not like, has absolutely obliterated my work life balance, and put me under a lot of stress. Not to say this doesn’t happen a lot in our job, but I have an opportunity to go back to an old client that I loved. My current project leadership knows the date I’m set to roll off, but have been hinting they won’t let me leave because I’m good at my job. I am so desperate to leave and have been advised by multiple colleagues to do so. What do I do??
My current manager will not let me roll off my project and continues to say that “I’m on track for promotion here” and that if I choose to roll off then he won’t recommend me for promotion. I’ve put in a lot of work here and find this extremely manipulative. Any advice on how to approach this?
As an analyst* I have to do the printing. I'm gonna tape the top of each paper of the reportout to the bottom of the page before it so the client has to unroll it like a scroll. *glorified secretary
Anyone have any Monthly Progress report Templates? Something that is outlining the current status of the project(s). Looking for schedule progress, budget/cost tracker update, major issue resolution updates etc
My firm is virtual - all work done remotely in home office unless on client site. Haven’t traveled since mid October. It’s driving me nuts. What do you recommend doing?
Should I mention specific client names on my CV?
Need counsel: Left advertising to go client side last year. Working at a huge company isn’t for me long-term but the money is great, I have more balance and actually raised my kids this year. I have the opportunity to be a c-suite leader at a very small agency on the rise. Super confused. Money will be less, long-term opportunity will be more. Also thinking about having another kid soonish.
getting rolled off a bad project early because of a bad fixed budget celebrate with me please 🥂 🍾 🎉
TFW you pack your bag for fly day and check out of hotel but there is 50% chance client needs you to stay through tomorrow. 🤔
Lots of us are skilled at delivery but most sales books seem to focus on the pitch and closing... What are your best resources for learning to develop and nurture strong, lasting client relationships?
I'm not ready to commit to serious dating and a relationship, but I also feel like everyone I meet either works for my employer or my client. Idk how to date über these circumstances.
I've recently joined Deloitte India as a Consultant. One of the Associate Directors is forcing me to move to the base location ASAP. I'm not fully vaccinated and have my own inhibitons. 3 back to back deaths in my family due to covid. But he is not ready to understand any point and wants me to move. It's really taking a mental toll on me. What should I do?
Preparing for a one-on-one call with the client PM... Preparing to get chewed out for no reason. Commence flop sweat.
QQ: At what stage in my career am I required to post mediocre spots to LinkedIn that the client forced us to do and tag everyone on team to pretend I’m proud of it?
How does Deloitte staff new experienced hires at the C/SC level? Are you assigned to a project right away?
“It just stresses me out-having ALL women on this project. It’s not even a gender thing. It just... if anything it‘d be MORE sexist to keep the team “as-is” simply BECAUSE you’re all women, you know?"
Just wanted to start off the day by saying - I work with almost only women on my project, and I love every single one of them. They are the most supportive, kind, brilliant, and encouraging individuals and I feel so blessed and lucky to be working with them. Who you have in your team seriously makes it or breaks it, and I appreciate that I can work with amazing top notch women like them. Really appreciating my fellow ladies out there!! 💕
How soon do transitions happen (involuntarily) at MBBs? I recently joined and am always worried that I’ll be let go. What are the conversations/processes like? [Asking for MBB because I’m also curious about the differences if any between the firms]

Any thoughts on what to ask for as a Junior Art Director with a few years experience in Toronto? Salary vs freelance day rate vs freelance hourly? Asking for a friend!
My wife sells insurance so I am sure she views me as a customer but I am curious how much life insurance you 30 and 40 somethings have out on yourself?
How do you set up your classroom? What can you tell me about how often you use instruments? What do you do to make them accessible? Thanks so much.

Hi! 2019 grad and started working in-house at a large org. Learning a lot, my area is finance and corporate. Curious to know if there are any folks here who moved to a big law firm from an in-house position (very early on in their career). Was it easy? Did you like it? Very happy in my current position - I def have great work life balance, but feel need more than that. Thanks in advance.
Coronavirus, Brexit, US elections - any predictions of how the market will react in 2020?
Could someone please direct me to resources that explain/demonstrate how to teach any elementary subject ( including Specials) simultaneously when your school has no webcams, your Smart Board is to be used as the monitor to see the remote students and the in-person students are not allowed to use technology? Or, if this is your situation, share how you are set up delivering lessons under these 3 conditions.
If a company is hiring multiple spots for one role (i.e. multiple analysts in the same dept) would they wait until the end to provide offers or would they send offers as they determine a candidate would be a good fit? I can't for the life of me remember how KPMG did it so many years ago.
Have 250$ WFH allowance, what should I spend it on? Thinking of a dock or maybe another ANC headphone? Thoughts or suggestions?
I heard Accenture just created an all gender bathroom in their NYC office. That could make work/life balance more interesting 😬

Just started looking for another job after being with my commercial for 6 years. I’m encountering more and more recruiters pushing the salary expectations question at the recruiter interview. Basically won’t move forward in the process if you don’t give a number or the right number (usually low). Anyone else experiencing this?
Would you go into the public sector (like teaching) or work at a nonprofit, if you made from 80k and up to 150k in salary over the course of your life? Why?
