Sounds like a vaccine from AZ will be out by EOY. Do we think we will be back to normal life by next summer?

No. Because many will be unwilling to try a vaccine rushed to market where side effects aren’t well known.

SM1, you're part of the group the podcast specifically describes and discusses. There's this push for a vaccine at any costs because that's how people expect normal life to resume, but if the vaccine is developed too fast then there's skepticism surrounding the safeguards that were bypassed in order to bring it to market.

You're not alone, there's a huge percentage of the population which think's the same way. Let someone else go first. This is a much bigger situation then people realize because if a vaccine is brought to market and fails (adverse side effects, etc) it would confirm all of the negative connotations surrounding vaccination in general and destroy confidence in the public health system as we know it.

If I had choice between an experimental vaccine being rushed to market and actually getting Covid, well....

I hope we don’t get a scenario like the movie I am Legend, where the vaccine was worse than the disease

What’s normal life?

Not sure where you heard this. Was listening to reporting yesterday that suggested this is still very much up in the air. There will also need to be around 70-80% of the population getting the vaccine for it to be effective and confidence is very low. Some form of this will continue for a lot longer.

I wouldn’t take a vaccine that comes out in such a rush without long term studies with politically backed agendas.

Hi All, I have received offer from Wipro and location is Pune but during HR discussion I mentioned my preferred locations as Gurgaon/Delhi/Jaipur . Same I had discussed with HR after receiving the offer but now they are saying joining location can not be changed and have to join at Pune only.

Please suggest what can I do in this case as I don't want Pune location because Wipro is calling for hybrid mode work and need NCR only ?

Thanks

Hello hello.

I am getting promoted soon. I work out of the NYC office of a top ten (non B4) firm. I would love some insight on what others in a similar situation were paid as a first year manager or expect to be paid.

I am currently sitting at 92.5k as a senior. Covid killed my most recent raise (for the whole firm). I am consistently getting high ratings.

Thanks in advance!

I am really miserable at my current job, and just do not feel it is the right fit for me. However, my manager does not know I’m unhappy. I am never the type to complain and very much a “yes” person, and outwardly maintain a positive attitude. I’m very anxious that when I quit, my manager is going to be completely blindsided (and angry) because I’ve given no indication of unhappiness. Should I start planting the seed that I’m unhappy, or just continue on acting happy knowing I’ll be leaving soon?
