Try Dosa at Filmore
^my reply was to A1
I second Dosa on Fillmore for South Indian. Otherwise there are not a lot of great options
Do you not have a saravana bhavan there?
^ Didn’t you read my post D2? Wasn’t here to recommend South Indian food but did recommend Burmese. Appreciate the geography class, but I still wanted to help and provide a suggestion. Are you recommending something or just chiming in to criticize? 🤷🏻♀️
Dosa
A1 - I'm of South Indian descent and was looking for the likes of Sarvana Bhavans, Decaan spice, Chennai kings, Chettinad, Appakadai etc. but I appreciate the Burmese recommendation.
D2 - thanks for looking out - amber didn't sound South Indian although I'm tempted to try it thanks to A1s rec.
P3 - on my list now.
ATK1 ^ - you probably delivered with the best match as per my yelp search of these names.
This is not South Indian per se, but you need to hit Mandalay (4348 California Street). Amazing Burmese food.
Amber
Menu looks good. What's your go to here?
I went there last year. Try the tea leaf salad as an appetizer. I had the mango chicken and the Burmese style curry chicken as main dishes and they were also amazing.
Better options in silicon valley
SB rocks!
Burmese food is not South Indian food. Burma is a different country. Amber doesn't have any South Indian food either
D2 - all south East Asian cuisines are influenced by South Indian food (Thai, Burmese, etc)
Lamb chops are excellent. But honestly can’t go wrong
Madras cafe in sunnyvale
Dakshin and Dosa on Fillmore! 🤤
Deccan spice is solid for Hyderabadi food. Chennai Kings ain't bad either. Personally feel Dosa is overrated.
