Anyone else heard about SPG just getting "unnamed source's" offer for $76/share? Does this mean merger with Marriott is off? I wonder if it's the Chinese group that bought Hilton luxury brand.
Who here is Hilton? Just curious (and before I hear you regurgitate pointsguy.com, you're wrong, Hilton is a sleeper, Waldorf Astoria / conrad / curio)
I’m the one whose ex won’t pay for college - and I have an update. My ex texted me today that he and his wife are buying our son a car (!!) for Christmas. On the one hand, it’s one less expense for me. On the other hand, my ex won’t pay for college and he owes me at least $10K for previous medical expenses, but he can find money for a car - which is a “fun” expense that will get him brownie points with our son. Whatever - my son benefits, but talk about a “Disneyland Dad.” Ugh.
I am 2 nights away from being grandfathered into SPG’s lifetime platinum (10 years, 498 nights). Think they’ll give it to me if I ask? Not able / willing to book 2 more nights this calendar year.
Cold take was 660. How much can I reasonably improve from here? How many points have folks jumped in the past and how much studying did it take?
How many points should I ask Hilton for this??
I’ve already wondered, is there a trade off for long power reserves? Less accuracy? Always surprised me to see Panerai with 8 days in similar price points to watches with 48 or 72.
Feelings don't validate a point. Reading/Research matters. Before you open your mouth to discuss any matter, make sure your points are informed by verified data. This will help you everywhere.
If I'm new to Marriott and Delta what challenges/rewards things beyond the regular ones should I be inquiring about?
Trying to plan our honeymoon next year somewhere in South America, and deciding between SPG offer of one free night or 10 free suite upgrades. Please help! :)
First Saturday in a long time that I don't have a Marriott check-in notice waiting on my phone! 😀
When you’re on point to lead a call, and your manager is on the call, is it normal for them to constantly “add points”/interrupt you every minute? I’ve had a couple managers and noticed that every one of them that did this, didn’t add any value beyond what I was saying most of the time. On the contrary, when I had SMs or MDs on the call, they never interrupted.
Has any ACN folk gotten anything useful from their recognition points - just got awarded 50pts and don't know what they can be used to buy
United has savor business class seats 1 way for 80000 points. I hear you can stop over on leg of one way in the same region and stay as long as you like..anyone do this? If so where? #HoneymoonHelp :)
Is our current Marriott status extended through 2022 or are they basing 2022 status on 2021 stays?
I get that we cannot/should not remain in Afghanistan indefinitely, but this withdrawal debacle definitely points to a serious lack of coordination and planning. It’s been 20 years!!
Cheers to the Marriott and SPG merger. A lot more benefits for us and a lot more options for us 😀
Does Fidelity have Zelle? I transferred my assets to Chase to avoid long transfer times as they use to be in Schwab, but I see Schwab has Zelle now. Does Fidelity?
My SO is a contractor and takes multi-month breaks in between projects. I’ve noticed for years that their personality changes (for the worse) when working, but WFH has made life especially toxic. I’ve tried broaching the subject from multiple angles but always leads to what appears to be blinding anger where they say very harsh /hurtful things. Any advice on how to handle?
Dm if you need referral for Accenture
Just reading up on the new X1 credit card and honestly both relieved and flabbergasted it took us this long to get here. There are some things I’m kinda unsure about but over all it seems like it will really help. Love it. Just signed up but the waitlist is already running long *sigh* even with a code..
LEK vs Stax for PE consulting. Anyone have any experience working at either firm? Thoughts on exit ops?
I received a recognition in September and later in October month I resigned. Is there any policy that if associate has raised separation from Accenture then he will not receive any hike or variable bonus even if his last working day is in Jan 2022?
Is it worth it to go back to school for a better track to a FAANG company? The division I’m currently in seems like there are no good opportunities, and I have the funds available to finish my undergraduate full time (Canada). I applied to Amazon before for a highly senior position and made it to final interview so I think I would have a better chance for a new grad type role.
26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.
What pisses me off the most about trump isn't that he's racist and sexist. He reminds me of that old white client who doesn't know jack but constantly treats consultants like shit. We all know one!!
I have an offer at a PE-backed healthtech company growing 30% a year, as VP of strategy reporting to CEO. 1 year after series B round, revenues at ~20-25M. I am excited but comp is less than expected. 175K base, 20% bonus, equity options worth 60K-180K annually (60 if valuation doubles in 5 yrs, 180 if it triples, very little if does not double and 5yr vesting). Who can help benchmark? I hear I could push base up, hesitating how much... and what is signing bonus standard?
I make over a quarter of a million dollars a year working in finance and since wfh over half my "work hours" time I'm just playing video games or reading a book.
Looking to buy family home in DFW area… needs to be close to a children’s hospital, have great school district, and ideally not too far from airport. Any reccs that come to mind? HHI 300k
Anyone tried or have a Tonal? Thoughts? How are the class? Do you feel fitter after using it? How long are workouts? How often are you using it? Is it addictive and fun like peloton? We have a peloton, which we love, but aren't disciplined enough use it consistently. Need to get back into the fitness game now that the pandemic is over. Like the gym / classes, but the time saving aspect of at home workouts is great and better for us right now with baby. Might get this as gift for hubby.
Any management/ technology consultants applied for 482 visa? Heard some people got exemption. Any tips would be appreciated:)
I’m on the verge of getting an offer from a startup company that was acquired by a $2bn company. I make $70k & no bonus. The offer would be $105k base+10% bonus. To get to the TC the startup is offering, it would take 3-4 years in my DTE at Accenture. The title is 3 titles up from what I currently am. However, it’s a step down from a brand perspective and I’d mostly be working with older people vs. people my age. Thoughts? Opinions?
Writing my CRT summary page now, when giving examples of the accomplishment, should I include project/client name or not?? Giving this is internal discussion between RP and HR? Any thoughts?
I created an comms consulting/marketing agency focused 100% on using advertising to combat COVID misinformation that is costing lives: we’re called The Auxiliary and you can check us out at resistcovid.com. I’m reaching out because we’re running (our second) hackathon against the infodemic- this time centered around finding creative ways to keep Georgians informed about COVID amidst misinformation and mistrust and an early relaxation of social distancing.
