Quick qstn - I'm receiving HRA of 24075 from my employer but I would like dhow the rent paid as 96k p.a (while filing ITR). Even if I do so, I was only able to get exemption of 24075 from gross. Checking if we can speak to payroll department to increase Actual HRA since I'm actually paying more rent than compared. Will I be able to do so ?Deloitte Newco EY Accenture Genpact KPMG

How many points ??? 4am fire alarm!!!
I value SPG at 2.5cpp so cash and points I cheaper here (usually is). That said, the points you use are worth infinitely more than the ones you don’t. If you’re sitting on a million of them, just use points and don’t stress about a $30 difference in value of Monopoly money
You’re a partner. You can do better than Aloft
Also getting Courtyard Calgary for 15000 MR points
Aloft and Courtyard are both kind of far out from the city. Stay at the Fairfield if you want to save on points and still remain downtown.
Aloft >>> Courtyard though because it’s right next to the C train line.
Would not recommend Cash + points because you can get a room for 110-150cad or so anyway
D1 - Thanks for your response. I looked up TPG valuation. By that mapping 7000 points are worth 200 USD and 15000 Marriott will be 135 bucks and seems like a good deal.
The Westin downtown is good
D2 - were not in your bowl Principal doesn’t necessarily mean Partner. Though, given what ours make, your main point still holds
Don’t stay at the Courtyard, stay at the Residence Inn. The rooms are head and shoulders better + free breakfast. The 2 hotels are right next to each other (same building)
BCG2 - I thought your Principals made $300-$450k? Our Partners make much more than that...
Not sure how that is relevant SM. Both make enough to not stay at aloft. That’s the point D2 and I were making
Doesn’t matter I’m an analyst and I’m not even looking at alofts....
