Gonna take a wild guess and say this is not a role on the investment team.
150-250 sounds more like a salary for post MBA hires rather than for 2-3 y exp undergrads.
What city?
Some funds may start you at at, esp if they’re not buyout and do more debt etc. Comp can rise rapidly though as you factor in bonus and / or carry. Also, getting your foot in the door for buyside is the hardest part, so much easier to lateral later on.
NYC. I’m healthcare focused
It apparently isn’t an entry level position and most people come in with 2-3 years experience. I am reading online that total comp generally varies from 150-250+. Does this seem right?
What’s the breakout of the 125
Should be 150-200 total comp for mm pe
Are you sure it’s the deal team?
This def isn’t deal time, all in should be 200+
For a mid-cap fund I would say 250k all in, megafund should be 300k+ - OP I would beware
Thanks everyone, I’ll clarify with them since it did sound like it was on the deal team. Probably not worth interviewing if the base is less than I make now lol
Total comp sounds really low. I’d expect all in to include a significant target bonus.
C2 - Is Buyside where one wants to be?
I’m in buyside now. I work 9-6:30 most days, minimal travel except for cool conferences and events, meet tons of companies, make way more than in consulting, and work in a small team where I have an impact. Obviously this will vary shop to shop, but I def recommend the career path if you can get your foot in the door
C2 that sounds awesome. Where you located?
