Okay so listen I interviewed for a company on Monday which I sent the recruiter a thank you email Tuesday morning.
She told me I would hear back yesterday or today but I’m kinda impatient. 😭
Do I give her until EOD 👀

I’ve had to quit a job after only a few months due to a racist boss, they were the only manager for my department so there wasn’t an option to switch. I leave it on my résumé because its the only relevant experience related to what I’m looking for but I get asked about all the time by recruiters why my time was short-lived. Any suggestions on what To say?

My wife is in a new school after 15 years in the district. The secretaries brought her a welcome to the building basket today.
So my supervisor over preschool was making site ‘visits’ last week. So the director was in my classroom not wearing a mask and was not practicing social distancing. What can I do(The director is not a person you can reason with. Talks down to the teachers)? Any advice?
Clarification: The reason for the site visit is that the ECE department is up for review this year and all admin are snapping at us for every little thing. Anything else then perfection is not acceptable.
Does anyone have a Tango Touch interactive whiteboard in their classroom? I am testing this out for our district, and I'd love to hear how people are using it in the classroom.

Should respect be EARNED or GIVEN? 🤔 Chime in.
I come from the European culture of education where teachers are highly respected - very much like in the Japanese society where teachers get the utmost respect, as high as if not even higher than doctors / surgeons.
Students stand up when the teacher enters the classroom, say “hello” when seen in the hallway, etc. Teachers are (or at least are expected to be) GIVEN the respect by students. Seems in the US respect has to be EARNED.
Has anyone ever had a student in their classroom who became very sick part way through the school year? What did you do to show support as a teacher/school community?
How does everyone teach Thanksgiving? I have several First Nations People in my fourth-grade class and certain "history" lesson are uncomfortable to teach.
I have a few students who always doodle in class. I'm never sure if they're paying attention while they're doodling and that's just a way to get out extra energy. Thoughts?

How much do you pay for benefits? I am thinking about moving districts but I am not sure what the hidden fees are for their benefits. Wish it was more transparent, I feel like other districts get paid way more but I was wondering if they syphon your money away with health insurance, dental etc.
In May, I learned that I would not be getting renewed due to COVID. I spent all summer worried about the future and what would happen if my diabetic husband got sick. I ended up getting a job out of state with a district and a governor that takes things seriously while my old zip code is a major NYC Covid Hotspot that the governor put under major restriction. I’m so glad I am where I am now.

I'm one of 3 learning strategists at my school. However, I'm the MAIN strategist that cover for absent teachers. I just finished taking over a grade until it was filled with a new teacher. Admin works closely with the other 2. I'm not included in any school data/presentation to help the new teachers on staff. I believe the other strategists are working against me. They are assigned classes when I'm not available. The union says it's at the principal's discretion. What would you do?
