I just moved agencies, which included a bump in title. I’ve managed the full scope of responsibilities in a previous role/agency (without the pay or title). Walking in to lead a VERY strong team with a strong, long term client relationship at the Group Director level. Advice for someone stepping into this kind of leadership role under these circumstances?

I was told a client thought I had an attitude because of my facial reactions in a meeting. But I made a concerted effort not to react while she was berating me for something someone else wrote 😐 how are you supposed to act when a client is criticizing you and being out of line? I’m Latino; I don’t appreciate being referred to as Latinx. I advocated to our office Latino ERG that we should drop the Latinx name and change the ERG back to the Latino / Hispanic name it was a couple years ago. It wasn’t even close. The vast majority of Latinos wanted it to be Latino/Hispanic, so we are changing it back to what it was.

I have been experiencing major burnout and have been struggling to manage work tasks with my ADHD. I'm in a position that has a lot of interruptions and requires my leadership input on various things leading me to feel constantly overwhelmed. Should I bring this up with HR or my manager? Should I ask to move to a position that might be better for me? Or will this work against me and make me seem like a bad employee?
