Hello fishes, I joined Nagarro on 24th of August. But still no project is assigned yet. Basically I am on bench. Now I am about to get an offer from ServiceNow. I really wanna join ServiceNow as it's a big product based organisation and the competition is really high compared to Nagarro. ServiceNow is giving me a joining date of 1st October. As I am still on bench, will I get released by Nagarro soon ? Because no project is allocated to me.

My recommendation is either find some time in your schedule to help or identify another resource who has that time. Being a solution based person will help avoid the annoyance.
Seemed annoyed is not the same as he's annoyed. Stop overthinking it. He'll survive.
He expects you to help nonetheless
Yup
Yes thats what the networks for , you scratch my back I scratch yours . Sad but true
Short answer is no, you don't. Setting clear expectations is more appreciatedthan taking it on and failing. That being said, it's an opportunity to help out a manager. If you don't have bandwidth, try finding someone to help you with what's on your plate so you can help the manager. You get scale, and early sight into a potential project.
You shouldn't beat yourself up that you were up front about what you can achieve. Another way to say no is to suggest someone else who can do it. That way they aren't stuck at square 1.
You should try to find time to help. Proposals are a pain in the ass, but invaluable for your career. That's where relationships are solidified and when you get good at proposals, you get an early line on the cool projects.
And if they didn't want that other person, it might be that they were hoping to also staff you to it, and you're not available. That's a good problem. Let em be annoyed.
Am I expected to help nonetheless?
Might be worth it to help them out with the proposal. That manager or SM could pull some strings for you later
Yes
I offered to find another analyst for him already... didn't seem to be interested.
Thanks SM1, that's good advice. Just didn't want to put myself in a position where I'm telling my project SM that I'm doing proposal work either... or have to pull all-nighters doing both. I'm already doing other +1s
You are overthinking it. Any manager worth his/her salt understands capacity constraints. I'd rather find someone who can help rather than someone who can't. And your SM on project would be pissed if you cannibalized chargeable work for BD. There's nothing that the manager can do to you. Certainly not block your promotion or anything. Have a talk with your project lead and CC if you need cover.
As already mentioned, try to help out on the proposal if you can. Obviously don't take lead, but volunteer to help out with a few slides and a couple hours.
