Started a new job about a month ago at a REAALLY good firm. The overall job is very difficult and tough to learn. I’m somewhat understanding it but having a hard time, the support/training is there but at the end of the day having a hard time with trying to grasp it all. Would really appreciate any advice on organization/staying focused or trying to learn a new job and staying optimistic without looking weak.

Make a list! This helped me so much - actually writing down what I need to do and what's stopping me from doing each thing.

Also please don't give yourself a hard time. I'm 4 months into a new job and it's all starting to click. You've only been there a month so a lot of stuff just won't make sense yet. The fact your putting in so much effort is enough.

And don't forget to ask for help from those around you :)

Started in a new role. It's become incredibly apparent how little I learned in risk and the learning curve is insanely steep. Leave ASAP if it's not for you, because the things you learn are useless unless you want to stay in compliance forever.

Feeling so lost. One day it hit me hard that I don’t think the career path I’ve been in is right for me. It’s been gnawing at me ever since. Looking for a change, but don’t want to leave my company just for the sake of leaving, or just better pay. I want to know that my next move is a step that is going to take me places.

I feel utterly passionless which doesn’t help. And anything that sounds remotely interesting isn’t something I feel I can monetize.

Am I alone in this? Any advice?
