*correction- our creative director is 5 years out of college, with 3 years of work experience with one of those being an internship role. Some freelance experience, too. I was told 3 but I looked into it. My manager said the creative director is very junior and needs our guidance which is why I was questioning it.

Wow. Gtfo.

Leave ASAP. How come this didn't surface during interviews? The CD, especially. Should have asked to meet more folks, imo

Definitely. I met 7 people across other departments which was a mix of folks in their 20s and 30s. They wanted to choose who I met. When I asked about creative the CEO and VP made it sound like they had a well supported team and all the tools and that they did really great creative work. Most of the work is recycled and repurposed for clients. I never got to meet the CDs at my last agency during the interview process due to schedules but they were so experienced and smart and drove me crazy at times lol. I miss them.

I graduated in May 2020 and found myself excepting a Junior Art Director position in Healthcare. I never saw myself in health but with many agencies having hiring freezes I decided to get some experience and save up some money in the meantime. Fast forward one year; I’ve added a new campaign to my website and I’m starting to apply to consumer agencies again. Any tips to help me make the transition? Any place to avoid? Who have you noticed is hiring again? Thanks in advance :)

Looking for some advice. Currently contributing 10% to 401k and maxing out Roth IRA, and remainder of savings (usually $800-$1200 per month) putting in a HYSA for a down payment on a house. Hoping to buy in 2-3 years once we (partner & I) have a sizable down payment. Should I continue to put all my non-retirement savings in an HYSA for a downpayment or should I also contribute to my brokerage and invest to grow wealth? (24yo, $85k)
