What would you do if you had 2 weeks of bench time or vacation right now? Go to India to meet family or roam around US by yourself
Has anyone attempted to or actually yoloed by billing 2k hours for the year then just going awol on an extended vacation until the next year? Put that unlimited vacation time and those minimum hours to the test. Honestly can't see why I should essentially do work for free after hitting hours.
Did you wait for your background check to be completed before giving your notice? What about the final step of contacting the current employer? I have been emailing the team regularly to find out the status so I can give my notice and take some time off
Who’s A$$ has Amazon saved this holiday season? 🙋♂️ Don’t be shy, share your last minute gift shopping stories
My clients asked me if I can work during my vacation in Mexico. They approved my vacation arrange three months ago. And they are asking me one day before I left? Seriously?!
So, it's my birthday today. I don't have very many good memories associated with it, so it tends to be a pretty shitty day. Same with most major holidays. How do you cope with holiday-linked trauma?
Spinoff question... I know FMLA technically only covers you if you've worked for 12 months at your employer but has anyone actually had their employer say "sorry you we only here for 10 months so you can take your two weeks of accrued vacation, after that we'll expect you back." ? Since FMLA is unpaid anyway, I would imagine most employers would at least let you have unpaid time off.
What do you guys do if you have one week off between your old and new jobs? I was in Europe for few weeks in September, so had my vacation, I also hate doing nothing!
Had an offer for 30% more , a promotion to manager, extra week of vacation to switch firms. I love where I am at with my clients and there is a lot of potential there. Should I stay the course?
Does anyone else find it difficult to ask for time off? I haven’t taken a “vacation day” since February, billed 185+ hour months consistently through the pandemic (exceeded hours for 2020 bonus eligibility), and am feeling pretty burnt out. It’s hard because other associates in my department haven’t really taken any time off either (or it has been a day or two sporadically). Would really love to take some days over Christmas to recharge but I’m nervous about perception.
Thinking of doing some last minute solo travel. Any recommendations for travel from the east coast without breaking the bank during the upcoming holiday season?
Going on a team vacation to the beach and I think I’m kind of into this one female coworker I work closely with. What should I do fam?
Should an agency have a $600,000 holiday party budget and subsequently conduct layoffs before said holiday? #HotSportsOpinion
Joining Strategy&/PwC soon but have a pre planned vacation. Recruiter had mentioned that it shouldn't be a problem and we can talk as we get closer to joining date to finalize. Has anyone been in the situation before and what do you recommend I do? I'm worried that once onboarded, I won't get my vacation approved
I’m really exhausted and feel that taking time off to recover might be treated like a failure to deliver :( and while I’ve been working way too hard, seems like I’ve not been able to network well to apply to newer roles. Any of you here that took time off from work to just recover and prepare for your exit? Tips please!
Can someone from Deloitte help me to know exactly how many hours I must work in a year to achieve exactly 95 percent utilization? I'm trying to understand the difference between holidays vs. PTO hours
How do I know if I’m just stupid or my mental health is affecting me? I’ve recently found myself struggling at work. It all started when I had to prep slides for a client training shortly after I rotated into a new seat. I spent a lot of time reading but couldn’t understand anything. Then there was another research task which I also struggled with (reading but not processing) that made me doubt my capability. I had depression/anxiety last year but thought I recovered. (cont.)
Fuck delta for not putting precheck on my ticket and RDU for not accepting my global entry card as proof
I already have the Chase Reserve and Freedom. Should I get the SPG card though too? Already got my Reserve bonus, but only got that card about 3 mo ago. My credit score is ~750 bc only have 2 accounts
Hired as a Director into consulting but the client wants me to become "Chief of Staff" to his functional area. Should I consider that a demotion or promotion? Didn't really sign up for staff augmentation. Large part of my team is inept and the program is failing in areas. (Paper Lion title I never really had a chance to direct anyone.)
Panicking and need some guidance. Currently on a project where I serve a SME for a specific system for overall gap analysis across modules. CAL however has somehow looped me into leading discussions in areas I have no experience in. Fortunately there is time to buffer and align expectations on Monday. How could I convey being extremely uncomfortable with leading the discussion and also save face? Only caught wind of what was actually happening when I digged into the invites provided
I’m quitting and need someone to take over my role. The person I thought was best for it said no. How the heck do I approach someone else on the team without making them feel like second pickings?
How will you be intentional with your WFH time outside of working? Ex: Side projects, more time with your kids, start meditating, etc.
Moved to Atlanta about a year ago and haven’t been able to build my social circle yet. With Covid it hasn’t helped as well. Indian born desi, I am F and happily married! Would love to meet some like minded individuals. Looking forward to making some friends :)
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
I need honest advice on what salary I could ask for if I look for a new job . I feel like I’m never going to be satisfied with my comp. Thinking of jumping already to a 3rd company all within 2 years. Sucky thing is, I’m really enjoying what I’m doing right now.
What’s the best way to prep for an interview day? What’s the format usually, with a Big4? Curious...
