That you’ve been hoodwinked? No, I wouldn’t say that. That you’re curious if there are any opportunities to help on that cool account? Absolutely.

Happy to help! You’re playing a giant game, but there’s no rules sheet for you to read. I wish fishbowl was around when I started so I have asked questions too.
Happens a lot. Could be a number of reasons that’s happening, most not to do with you at all. Best thing to do is keep doing your boring work and pester your CDs to let you pitch in on the cool stuff in addition. As a junior, you’re able to ask for more opportunities in the name of wanting experience. The best thing to be as a junior is eager for more.
Thanks
Wouldn’t exactly take my advice here at all here but Im sorta in the mindset now, in this job market, that if a job isn’t doing what it said it would and you’re several months in then find another that will. The jobs are out there. Im not gonna waste my time at a place that “brought me in for X” and then won’t put me on X. Or makes me earn the opportunity for X. You hired me for it, either put me on it or you’ll be out of luck and having to find someone else. That said definitely find out what’s going on. Has the scope of work for that client changed and you’re scoped to that account? Would warrant you looking around as well unless there is something else at the agency you’d want to work on. Is it just a slow period (winter/January IS slow depending on the industry) and it picks up in like March? Would be good to know
Thanks for the advice.

You’re not owed anything so hoodwinked is a bit melodramatic. Scopes and needs change within an agency. That being said you are well within your rights to have an honest conversation with your CD about it. If none of that is satisfactory there’s nothing wrong with moving on to a better opportunity. There’s no bravery in sticking it out in a lame situation.

This is also a great point. Accounts have an extreme ebb and flow to them. There’s a good chance no one is doing fun stuff at your agency right now.
