I think everyone is afraid to be too casual at work because everyone gets offended too easily and you can get fired for over sharing. It’s safer to just keep it strictly business

The big 4 is an extension of college. I don’t think any other workplaces are as “friendly.”

It’s really the only thing I miss about Big 4 - I made a lot of great friends. But pretty much everything else about it sucks so still glad I exited haha.

I find it incredibly challenging to bond virtually lmao

Just try to interact with your new coworkers as much as possible and eventually you’ll meet people you click with. I really struggled with making friends the same way I did when I was at EY. I basically just tried to show up to as many events as possible (virtual and irl) and just interact with folks. Even so it wasn’t until like maybe 2 years after I started that I can say I have friends at work.

like

That gives me hope! I want work friends again

Starting virtual is hard! I changed jobs and onboarded virtually and tbh didn't make as good of a work friend until we had a couple in office team days. Besides that if someone mentioned something in passing like their dog or kids soccer game or SMTH I'd try to ask about it the next time i had a call with them. Some people just aren't small talk friendly though. I started at b4 pre COVID so all in person 0 wfh and most of the time they didn't engage in any small talk at all

Long term thoughts on TDOC after ER? I was bullish on this ER and thought it would provide a leg up. They are still having issues with operating costs with the LVGO merger. Also I think the market is still viewing this as a Covid play(see ZM) and worried of declining growth. My opinion is it’s safe to enter here but it’s not going to do anything in the short term(same as ZM until they acquire someone) Of course Cathy is still buying heavy here.

For those who had COVID what were ur symptoms at the beginning? Got back from traveling on Monday and have been feeling short of breath (like can’t get enough air), a little lightheaded, and some sore throat. My temperature is normal and don’t have a fever. My husband and I have both been working from home during COVID. We have young children. We have a Nanny now. The children love her. I love her. My husband hates her. He can’t find a way to get along with her. Or speak to her in a productive way. However, now I am going back to office a few days a week and my husband is threatening to fire her with no notice if he has to deal with her when I’m not there. I’d love any advice simpler than “divorce your husband” or “get a new Nanny.”

Well, our district found a COVID loophole and are exploiting it. They get to determine whether or not we are considered a “close contact” or not with a positive student. And because they told us to “never be within 6’ of a student for 15 minutes or longer” (in a tiny classroom with 28 JH students), they’re justifying that if we test positive “despite their efforts”, it’s on us, not the district, so they won’t cover any medical costs or give us the Covid days off. Talk about feeling expendable.

Hi fishes, Just need your idea/experience (if any) on the following query: I already have an offer with CTS. I am also getting offers from other MNCs, but for other locations. If I wish to join CTS only, but want to negotiate with them, on the latest offer I have with an expectation that they atleast match the same amount (if not offering me more). So just wanted to know, whether at all they would provide me a revised offer or would they be strict enough to let me go & not negotiating at all?
