Awesome post OP! (Nice change from the usual negativity in Fishbowl). Question: why are you still posting as PwC?

I don’t know how to change my pro and where I work yet
Good to hear as I have been speaking with Slalom the past 2 weeks. Everyone I have spoken with has been fantastic and really loves working there (and it does NOT come off like they are kool-aid drinkers, its more genuine.)
I'm in more of a niche area of consulting (Healthcare Tech) but looking forward to the next steps.

Cool! Let me know if you need anything
Ex slalom. Culture is good dependent on office. Pay and promo sucks.
Maybe they were quoting base comp only.

I like what I've heard about the company but the pay is less

Depends on where you’re coming from
What’s so great about slalom that you weren’t getting, and could get, at Big4?
Ah that’s very helpful thank you! So MBB is mostly strategy consulting type of work then.
I’ve been pretty unimpressed by your recruiting team 😬 it’s been such a rocky process so far
TI1 what is your question?
Rising Star
Love Slalom!
Just so it's clear, the practices are all local and I didn't see much cross pollination of templates or frameworks across offices. I spent 2 years with Slalom San Francisco.
McK, thanks for the free consulting :-) But I’m confused. Build is nearly 2000 strong. Global salesforce about 1000. Emerge 700. These are all global teams that are highly utilized, often part of blended local teams delivering to local clients. I was trying to understand what is not working per D1.
I’ve had a horrible experience recruiting with Slalom. I was on deck for partner at my firm and they were recruiting me to lead a practice area. They said that role wasn’t the best fit but they had another in mind. I went through the process, found the level of person I was interviewing with to be unusually low, so I reconfirmed comp - they said the max they could do was $140k. It was a mid level role. Not only was it wildly offensive, it was a massive waste of time.

Spot on, wildly inappropriate behavior from the recruiter.

What practice? Big 4 promotes slowly and a am looking for a change?
Pro
Needs are dependent by market but our cloud practice is outstanding - what’s your skillset?
What's manager level comp?
Chief
How is this still going? Nothing has been said for dozens of posts at this point.
I spent a few years at Slalom, it was great, comp was good, bonuses good, leadership good.

Yup
Better WLB?

I’m not digging at PwC - there are some amazing practices and people there. Trying to reach those who want to make more of an impact and have the authority to own their work and not have it stolen by some overzealous manager/SM.

Genius way to get referrals lol

Not doing it for that I’m paid well enough.
Do you know much about their Canadian presence and non-tech offerings? In my mind slalom = great culture and tech consulting. Am looking to step away from tech/cyber consulting.
We have over 1000 people in Canada. Not sure about non-tech roles, but check out the BAS practice.
Starting interview process next week, what is comp for 2 YOE + masters, prob like advanced associate consultant or consultant level
Pro
Good question bonus % is always dependent on market, etc. 120 base i think is reasonable
What’s total comp look like for campus hire? Also, what’s your WLB like on a day to day?
Pro
As an associate consultant you’d prob be in the 85-100 range. It depends on what office you’re at - I’m a workaholic so - I prob put in 50-60 hrs a week because I want to do good for Slalom. But I’ve quite literally never felt any pressure to do over 40.
A recruiter from Slalom just reached out to me but I am really interested to hear about your transition from Big 4 to a smaller firm. Would it be okay if I DM’d you to set up a chat?
Pro
Absolutely

Any insights on the analytics innovation team?

Yeah definitely - it’s an awesome practice with a lot of great tech partnerships. I balance going between analytic work and biz strategy - but if you are committed to finding solutions analytically - tools are abundant to get it done.
