Literally just saw this before seeing this, promise I wasn’t searching for it
I believe the chance went down slightly from being a coin flip to about 47%, part of that is less people getting married so it makes sense that those who do are slightly more likely to try to make it work
Welcome. My gf wanted me to pay for things. We eventually made our way to more 50/50. But I feel your early question of “will this be every time?!”
How was your process to changing that to 50/50?

It honestly depends on the girl. Some girls expect the guy to pay 100% for the entire relationship. Others are more progressive.
How far along in the relationship are you? Have you talked about the future or considered going exclusive? If you're going to have the exclusive conversation, that would be a great segway. If not, I'd bring it up on your next date before the bill comes out. Let her know that you really like seeing her and are happy to pay for this check. However, you'd like her to pay for half going forward.

It shouldn't start an argument. If she's a mature adult, she should see your perspective and be willing to compromise. If she fights, I'd consider that to be a red flag.
Keep in mind you're not asking for something wildly outside of social norms. You're also not asking for the impossible.
Depends on how much you like her to be honest. If this is something you see turning into a serious relationship and you’re uncomfortable paying for her all the time, you need to have the talk now. Every girl is brought up differently. Some are more traditional in sense and think the men should pay (because technically once she becomes the mom of your children, you’re gonna be getting all bills anyway) and some were brought up as feminists thinking men/women are equals so they’ll split the bills with you, but you best believe they’ll be also splitting chores, household responsibilities, etc.
How would u bring it up?
