Started interviewing to get negotiation leverage as our company is being acquired. Got some offers but I’m getting offers faster than the acquisition deal is closing within my current role. I don’t want to turn down a new opportunity at another company without testing the waters under our new acquired structure, but also don’t want to stay and then regret not taking another job. Need advice on how to approach this situation.

Wondering if anyone knows of part-time gigs in this field. My current job is great, but I want to pay off debt faster, while maintaining some of my "data" skills.

I have written plenty of Stored Procs, ad-hoc, Functions, etc. in SQL Server. Administered SQL Server for a while as well, with permissions and roles and such. Was an ETL developer for a little while. Also did a lot of SSRS, some PowerBI, and a lot of just moving/transforming data, all over 5ish years. Any help is appreciated!

Does anyone have any tips on how to stay motivated when peers with the same role seemingly get away with delivering a lower quality of work? To be clear, I don’t mean that it “appears” they are doing less work, as I know the level of effort you actually see might not tell the whole story. This is a question which I'm curious about people's thoughts. Mostly reflecting on the past since I'm way too far in audit to make a career change. Did I make a mistake by not trying for law school? I took the LSAT when I was a first year associate and got a 168. At this point, the score expired and would need to retake. I know law is riskier than audit. But a part of me wonders if I'd have been better off (except more student loans) if I went to law school instead of sticking with audit?

I have two job offers in front of me: option A: join a team I’ve worked at before, where I have C-suite support, with one person in particular guiding and advocating for me, but fewer exit opportunities because this company operates in a niche. I'm coming to the end of a contract term and being converted to FTE.

The offer was presented to me by the hiring manager and not HR/Recruiter. To me it is a lower base salary offer than expected, so I asked for info on the total compensation package (base, benefits, bonus, stock/rsu, etc.), which I was told about when they took me on under the contract with the intention to convert.

Hiring manager sends me an email with only standard benefits, no bonus, etc. Are these red flags?
