Started meditating a few days ago, and amazed that I hadn’t discovered it before. 10 min each day can make a huge huge difference. The Waking Up app from Sam Harris is a good one

How does Waking up compare to Headspace, Calm, etc.?

I’ve tried all three since I have memberships from work and can say without a doubt Waking Up is the best if you want to learn the real theory behind meditation. I’ve been using it almost everyday for about a year now.

I would say the other two apps are better developed while Waking Up is more bare bones. Headspace is oversimplified in my opinion (makes sense since the apps seems to be targeting a larger audience). Calm I could never get into and felt more like a supplement/nice for the background sounds.

I’d highly suggest trying Waking Up if you are curious. You’ll be able to tell Sam Harris knows what he’s doing and it’s backed by theory. The app also includes additional lessons (not just daily meditation exercises).

How do you feel satisfied with the meals you’re eating? I feel like if I am not satisfied with my meal I continue to eat, which just turns into a binge.


I’m traveling again for work and while it took me a while to get back into it, I’m almost as efficient as I was pre-Covid. My issue is that when I get home, I am exhausted. It feels like it takes me a day to recover from any travel that is more than an overnight trip. I know travel disrupts sleep and I eat heavier food when I’m on the road, so I’m watching that, but any other tips to not come home feeling like a shell? Or how to bounce back faster?
