Started on 20 my vyvanse about 1.5 years ago always taking weekends and vacations off. Lately it just hasn’t been enough and considering upping the dose but a piece of me wants to avoid this, any advice?

20mg Vyvanse is extremely low.

Tolerance is normal! 1.5 years is a long time

I hate to do this to my doc, but about every year or so I ask him to switch between Vyvanse and Ritalin. I have what some docs call a “bulletproof liver”, so my dose is already high, and about once every 10-12 months I start to feel tolerance effects. Given that upping the dose isn’t really an option (I’m basically at the highest possible dose), alternating drugs is the only way to go.

In my case, ADHD drugs gave me that split second to think before saying the first thing it comes to mind. Cognitive behavioural therapy helped me see the sign and stop myself before saying something I’d regret. Not sure if it makes sense to other people, but that’s the best way to put what I experienced.
