Started working in a advisory role at a public accounting firm. Primarily government contractors, non profit, and educational institutions. My dream has been private equity but couldn’t get a full time offer out of college (I have done PE / M&A internships in the past but they weren’t in my senior year). Am I screwed, or do I just need to get an MBA?

Question for EY-Parthenon folks: what are the titles for different tenure levels, namely what are post-MBA consultants and managers called internally? Recruiter reached out about a Consultant (Manager) role and it’s unclear if that’s a post-mba or manager role or something in between

All else equal, is it easier to become direct admit PP rather than promoted to that role from SM or MD? Seems less obstacles. Thoughts?

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. What are the best consulting firms for PE and VC exit, please include boutiques not just obvious ones

Comp question: I’ve started recruiting for a few PE portco ops. It’s early in the process and one of the recruiters asked me about my expected comp. 1. Does anyone know what’s a reasonable reply? I have no idea what to ask for. Just under 4 YOE. Was thinking mid to high 100s. 2. Should I answer this question early on? Thank you!!! I read the other posts and comp reports but the numbers cited seemed a bit high.

A new analyst has joined our team and we often give them models/ slides but don’t always ask them if they know all of the accounting principles to be able to make minute adjustments to EBITDA or free cash flow. We are a FIG platform, so the knowledge required is relatively unique as well and not as easy to google as corporate transactions. Is there a better way to coach the analyst short of just throwing them in the deep end to figure it out or should we wait for them to ask us for help?

What are good techniques for sourcing deals in LATAM for potential buyouts. My firm is industry agnostic and ideally for firms with 5m to 10m in EBITDA. I have been using the news/pitchbook and network but not sure it’s the most efficient. Any advice?

If can’t get elected partner after 2 or 3 cycles, will likely get counseled out. Partner eligible for senior partnership after 6 years. How is it in PE? Is it up/out as well or can you end up being “stuck” at associate level for 10 years? How likely is it to be promoted, how fast and what happens if you are asked to leave (where do you go next?)
