Hey Googlers, I’m going in for my GCP TAM second round on Monday and had a few QQs for you all:
1. For the RRK2 case study if there is a scenario for handling peak time workloads where the client did a lift & shift of a monolithic architecture, is the best suggestion to move them to micro services to enable serverless and auto scaling features?
2. I was told that they’ll give me 15 mins to prep after the case study is shared live, would you suggest I build a 1 pager or is that not required?Google

McKinsey & Company Bain & Company Hey everyone -
Not the exact right bowl, but looking for advice/referrals for a close family friend trying to break into ESG/climate change/sustainability consulting.
They have ~7 YOE in finance (mostly junk debt, some S&T) and 20 YOE in development banking at an IGO (think World Bank, doing everything from public debt offerings, infrastructure, etc. all w heavy ESG/compliance requirements).
Thanks for the help!

I can't stop thinking about work.
I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

Are you open to SPG too? W union square has the best location. Cab to time square isn't terrible
PS, I'm a Marriott guy and the client is located close to Times Square
No projects in my team.
Lucky! That marriot is the best one there is just stay there.
@P1 what team are you talking about?
Are you FS? Can't say out loud!
@pwc1 Yes, I am FS
The Marriott is huge and the elevators are brutal in the evenings. Also sometimes the rooms aren't very clean. But they have one of the best hotel gyms. Just a block away is the Renaissance, I personally prefer it to the Marquis.
@BCG1 Yeah open to SPG as well. I'll check out that place
Legit the one at Times Square lol
I think wicked is in the same block as it
Take subway linea 1/2 to the Village. Great food and nightlife. Chelsea Market area is also excellent. And be sure to check out the Flatiron Room for cool drinks. In FiDi Pier A has a new awesome bar, and don't forget the Dead Rabbit.
It's restaurant week starting next week in NYC- Google it and check out the list of restaurants. There are some awesome places participating!
