Starting a new job at a big firm (Canada) on Monday and need a little wardrobe refresh (I say “need” because all my suits are nervous sweated out and I want to forget those early years.)

I’ve reviewed all the posts on the shoe debate and am hoping to narrow this down. Any ladies, who love high heels, regret their Louboutin purchase? Looking at 85mm but would probably be as comfortable as someone can be in 100mm.

My other shoes will be practical but I want a power shoe.

I actually love their story too. Thank you!

I work in Ontario and got all my pumps from L’intervalle- veryyyy reasonably priced and good quality comfy leather shoes. They have all different colours, patterns and heights!!

I don't regret my Louboutin purchases at all. The shoes make me feel snazzy even on the worst day. If you do get a pair, I suggest immediately taking them to a cobbler to get a clear or red rubber sole put on for stability and to protect the original red sole.

Congrats! Will you actually be working in the office or appearing in-person in court etc? I’m in Canada as well (at a boutique) and while I don’t regret my Louboutin purchase, I haven’t worn them as much as I would’ve liked due to COVID and can’t see myself wearing them in the foreseeable future with everything being virtual. I wouldn’t bring them out for just regular days at my desk in the office so I wear far less expensive practical shoes most often. I would wear them for trials etc, but we’re not doing in-person court appearances, discovery, med/arb at least until 2022. If you don’t plan to actually wear them anytime soon, you might want to wait until Holts has a storewide sale (15% off your purchase etc). Mine are 100mm So Kate and no complaints. Absolutely worth it.

They were true to size for me but I’ve heard others say they prefer a size up for comfort. Definitely wait to try on in person.

Don't regret at all! Barely ever wear them but they make me feel happy AF because I am that shallow and materialistic

Also curious to hear where you are planning to shop for the rest of your wardrobe refresh!

H&M and Express

Also I got most of my suiting from White House black market and banana republic- reasonable and chic!

My shoe wardrobe consists of solely Louboutin So Kate 100m and adidas stan smith... I’ve never regretted a purchase of either and I love both sides of my shoe personality :-) That said, I don’t regularly appear in court and if I did, I’m sure I’d be wearing loubies in preference to Stan. Though I do happily wear stan to board meetings.

Just recieved a offer from Western Alliance Bank for a Senior Business Analyst role. Comp 100k but the role would be in office. The new role seems like it does not have healthy work life balance and many red flags have already come up. I want to grow my skills and wouldn't mind being in office as I do miss being around people. How do I vet the role before accepting?

My husband & I are relocating to be closer to family next year. I always assumed I’d stay in my current role until the move, but things at work have become horribly toxic. I can’t stay in this environment for 10 more months. I’ve thought about trying to find a job in the new state that might let me start remote…but that feels like such a long shot. Any other recs? Took my first vacation (1 week) in over a year to visit family. Was bombarded by emails from one partner asking me to complete non-time sensitive motions, which he hasn’t even bothered to review. This is my third firm in three years (first I left as I was severely underpaid, second I left for a 100k increase in salary), but this lack of respect for my boundaries has made me want to move again once I’ve completed 18 mos. Bad? They don’t do this to the other associates (all male).
