I drove for Uber 6 or 7 years ago for about a month. Worked out to $12-14/h without bennies.

Thank you!! Nothing quite like imagining paying off loans until I’m 45 to inspire me to make some extra income 🤣

Is it a total faux pas to leave a case shortly after you get put on it? I told them I could only contribute 6-10 hours a week, but have billed 6 hours in one day already today… I’m already busy and feel like this case will put me over the edge.

Hi friends - please be careful on here. I have had a couple folks DMing me about how they can help me with my money etc in a very scammy sort of way. I consider myself an “intermediate” in terms of FIRE understanding and I’m thankful for the advice from folks on here who are super helpful/kind/supportive — but I wanted to make a quick post on this since there are a few bad apples. So I’m putting this out publicly for everyone who is new here to please be cautious.

I’m curious how much other people with similar incomes save/invest a year; I’m a 24M, making 70K a year in a HCOL city. I saved about $12K in my first year of working out of college, and I feel like that’s pretty good but I could’ve done better. My rent isn’t too pricey, but I went on 3 vacations, go out to the bars frequently, and spend pretty freely on food. Anyone care to share their income and corresponding savings for FIRE?

Anybody had experience helping spouse or close friend get over the mental block of investing, due to their growing up poor/having to support their parents and thus being unnecessarily conservative with money? Caveat that they work in finance/investment so they understand fully that historically stock markets have done ~10% return on an annualized basis. But their excuse is since they work in investment, they’ve seen too many trades/funds blowing up etc.
