Good luck OP you can do it.

Good luck!!! If you need any help or advice I can try to help! I lost roughly twenty pounds last year! :)

There’s a difference between diet/exercise to lose undesired weight and nutrition/lifestyle to maintain desired weight. Seems like you’ve been able to do the former. How to achieve the latter may be helpful conversation with nutritionist.

Awesome. It’s a journey, not a destination. Congrats on setting forth!

The only way it will fail again is if you do the same things again.

Do some things differently and maybe with a different mindset. You seem to be positive enough, so maybe it’s some pivotal moment where it backslides.

Ahhh, and so the story continues to ring true. I’m right with you. The most depressed people are those that are seemingly bubbly on the outside.

Good luck on your venture. Honestly, I wish you the best in your mental health, physical will follow :-)

Stick with it and don’t get disheartened when you don’t get immediate results or fall off your plan for a day. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

Good luck OP! Fee free to DM me if you need a buddy along the way.

I'm kinda on the same journey now. Have 45 pounds to lose. So far I've been at it for a few weeks and dont see significant weight or body change but I feel so much better and feel myself getting stronger. It took years for the weight to come on so my mindset for the weight to come off is slow and steady. Gave myself a year to lose it. That should be also long enough to build some good life long habits.

Also if you are willing to put in the work, I recommend tracking your calories. Been doing it consistently for 4+ months and it's taught me so much about nutrition and helped me with my relationship with food. I really do believe in "what gets measured gets managed".

1. Find out your maintenance calories (how many calories you have to eat each day to maintain your weight) https://tdeecalculator.net/
2. Eat at a slight caloric deficit (10% less than your maintenance calories)
3. Track calories in and calories out (how much you consume through food and how much you burn through exercise). I use myfitnesspal.
4. Enjoy the journey. Your weight will fluctuate up and down so don't look at that scale and get tied up on the numbers. They are just data points, nothing more. Enjoy that cookie, enjoy that meal out at times, don't restrict yourself. Just get right back on track afterwards. You're in this for the long haul.

DM me if you have any questions.

This mindset has changed my life. 20 lbs down and I've been keeping it off consistently for 4+ months. I eat at a slight caloric deficit (plus exercise/walking) and don't restrict myself to anything besides that. Too much restriction causes you to burn out and binge eat, therefore being in a never ending vicious cycle of losing weight and gaining it back. I'd rather lose the weight slowly but make it more sustainable than quickly and rebounding again. This last month I only lost 2 lbs and that is totally OK with me 👌.

Mindset for sure.

Sometimes my complete lack of empathy and compassion makes me feel like I’m a monster. Like if something tragic happens to my friend’s family, I don’t feel anything and dread having to fake my reactions. I have a sister I haven’t seen nor talked to in over a decade. Not like we had a fallout. I just don’t particularly care about her or pretty much about anyone else. In a different life, I think I could have been a serial killer.
