Ditto A1. Rest up and come in enthusiastic. It’s been a rough 14 months for M&A teams, and we’d really appreciate a jolt of enthusiasm. Might be worthwhile to reach out to a junior or midlevel in the group (if you’re friends with them) to just say hi and say you’re excited to start. Good to identify a buddy to ping with silly questions.

Try to get squared away on real life stuff if you aren’t already (i.e.: current with dentist, everything is on auto pay, you have a few pre-prepared meal plans you like and can start ordering once you are super busy). I would also get a good exercise and/or yoga routine going. It’s very easy to start skipping self care once deals are going.

Grocery delivery, cleaning service, cleaners that pick up and drop off at home - and keep in mind that this job CAN just be a means to an end - pay off loans, get a nest egg going, etc - and always keep your eye open for the next opportunity

If you're inclined to cut the learning curve, Working With Contracts is a good primer.
