What are the Exit opps in bay area for a non tech background (mech engg) and mba with 5 years industry exp and 2 yrs m&a consulting? Zero coding skills.
I was laid off from a resource management role, working with employees approaching or on the bench, working with managers to staff projects, and support functions like report creation, scheduling, etc. Roles like this are few and many large consulting firms have frozen internal hiring. Do you think it would be beneficial to get a SHRM cert? Would that help get a "talent related" HR role? Worth the money? I have a background in recruitment as well.

Anyone advice on whether MBA is worth it for me? Previously consultant at T2 firm. Currently make $125k base (~$140 TC) in strategy at CPG. Interested in working in food tech. 25, female, 3 yoe, went to top 20 undergrad (non-ivy). Would be targeting M7 or similar. A little discouraged by average comp I’ve seen for post mba CPG roles even from HBS, etc.

Starting on Monday. Transactional. Super nervous and anxious. I’m considering doing two things: 1) keep an excel spreadsheet that has assignment due dates, client names, assigning partner, etc. and 2) keeping a hand written diary of mistakes that I make on various types of legal agreements, with the intention that I will check that diary for assignments to make sure I don’t repeat mistakes. Is it a bad idea to join a first time VC fund as a Sr Associate as a PL at BCG? I expect itll be a massive decrease in comp (TC ~300k to ~150-180?). But its a topic thats interesting to me and the hours will be better

Has anyone negotiated a second time for your comp and how did you approach it? I interviewed for the same practice at two comparable size firms. I like Firm A a bit better but they gave me a 15% lower package comparing to Firm B. Negotiated with Firm A and they matched to the exact number Firm B offered. The fact that they didn’t even bother to offer a little bit higher than Firm B bothers me a bit, since it doesn’t make me feel like they really want me. Do you think Firm A is low balling me?
