Why in the world would it be a liability?
It’s not true. It’s an asset only insofar as it can showcase the skills that they’re interested in for their new hires.
You’re better prepared for cases, having done consulting recruiting before. Much more important will be school choice, which drives # of interview slots, the firms’ focus on hiring you
If you’re willing to go out of the country, better chances
It’s more important where you’re going to school Tbh
^ this. If you’re M7 you’re in a good spot
2nd year MBA here. Going to a top 20 and starting at BCG after graduation. Found that networking was much more important than the school choice and that it is definitely how you case so my suggestion is to prep for those. The fact the you have been a consultant is a good thing. Also someone was talking about overseas offices being easier, i have found that they are just as hard to get in. The cases were much tougher for overseas offices, at least where I applied (LATAM & EU). I eventually got a US based offer. And good luck with school and recruiting!!!
