You’ll be fine. Almost every successful person says, “yes” to something just outside their skill set and then figures it out. You’ve got this. Don’t get in your own way.
If you already knew how to do it, it wouldn’t be a job worth taking. The only place you can grow is outside your comfort zone.
You got it. If you aren't comfortable with digital by taking the first few weeks (or even months if you have tome) by taking the time to learn each job in the supply chain-- specifically ad ops. This is the number one price of advice. If you don't you will not maximize your experience or your team.
It is important to have this background (campaign setup/taxonomy, contracting, trafficking, and reporting). Why? so that you can fully appreciate what your staff is doing, but also so that you have a conceptual map so that you can apply your experience to making this process better, faster as well as know what limits can and need to be pushed.
You got this!!!
One of my old mentors told me to avoid people who think they know everything digital. It changes so fast, how could you? You got this!
You are never going to be 100% comfortable on everything..realizing that is important. Dig in when you get there read all the decks, keep as current as you can. The other challenge you will find out as you move up the strategic ranks, the higher you go the more challenging it will be to know it all, since you will be less hands on and more client facing. You can do it, though. Be honest about what you know and don't know and keep learning. Not just about digital about all channels
It’ll be fine. Good luck!
