Hi Fishes, I have offers from PwC(risk advisory) and IBM(app development). Thing is that the PwC joining is at Kolkata location but I don't want to go there and stay. There is not much difference between the offers in terms of package(10 & 10.4). Can I ask PwC to provide WFH or change my office location for this? Deloitte EY PwC KPMG

Agree with MM1, for a first job it seems like a good starting salary

Same - would have killed for $63k starting out (even considering inflation)

Missing info: location, years of experience, other benefits (bonus, stock options, etc), etc. If this is your first job out of college and you WFH, this is a great starting salary. If you have some experience then it’s potentially another conversation. I’m in a role that requires 3-4 YOE (I have less) and I negotiated up to 68k - this is pretty typical in my area and industry.
What is a demand generation specialist lol
I'm responsible for strategizing and standing up b2b campaigns (combo of emails, paid media, webinars, content syndication) in order to generate MKTG leads for sales reps
$63k competitiveness would depend on where you’re located! You can always try to negotiate with your direct manager after proving value, and if that does work out…
If you feel like you have learned enough and gotten the experience to move to a new role, I would look after that.
Similar situation, and starting to feel like a new job would be better. Seems like they can’t appreciate the new responsibilities you have gained.
Dependent on your company and location. I was a specialist at a pro serv company at $63k as well, but moved to tech and it jumped $20k
You’re never going to get a raise for stuff like people being out on maternity leave. Companies just don’t look and say “hey they’re doing more work now let’s give them a raise” (as frustrating as it may be). Go on Glassdoor and to see comp for similar roles in your location. If you’re company isn’t doing well financially and making cuts though pretty clear sign you’re likely never making more money there. If you’re good and get an external offer they may bump you then, but at that point you may have to leave anyways (depends on the boss and company but sometimes staying after you threatened to leave is a bad idea).
I think my plan of action will be to receive another offer to find out my market value and present that to my current company in Jan to see if they can beat it. Given the current market, budget cuts, and a lack of inflation compensation this past year, I highly doubt my current company will be negotiating within my expectations. Someone here mentioned they had a $20k jump which is exactly what I'm looking for
