Advice for myself if I could do it again: take one week off for crunch time and study full time, then take a hr each day with full test every Saturday for a month. One more week off for crunch time and take the test.

Same here. Biggest struggle has been accountability and actually consistently studying daily 😩

Use Magoosh. I found it much easier to learn using the videos and practice problems on there instead of trying to just study the book. Answer explanations were helpful too.

like

Just start practicing problems, the OG book has good number of problems and they start out easy to hard

like

Buy the full gmat official test bank, that’s the best practice by far.

Also, do the online practice, it better replicates the actual test vs. doing it in a book

like

I’ve done the OG questions but feel I could use more practice...

TTP for quant. No idea what to do for verbal

Biggest issue for me has been structure and resource overload

like

If you had a good SAT you’ll probably be fine. If you needed lots of prep back then, you’ll need some this time too!

like

Take a practice test cold to see where you’re scoring before you even start studying. This helped me come up with an appropriate study plan to hit my target score. Study by actively doing practice problems 90% of the time vs. passively reading study material. I went from a 710 - 760 following this approach!

Would like your advices. Awhile back I applied and was video interview for a position at a competitor. I suspect I wouldn’t get it based on the vibes they gave off. Now randomly I get an email from one of their recruiter asking if I was interested to apply for a similar position. Should I even bother? It might be with the same people.

So I have completely lost interest in my area of practice mainly because I haven’t been exposed to many matters (our team is really slow) and I am the most junior in the team. So billable work is never constant. I feel like this has impacted my interest and stagnated my growth. I am thinking of moving into a different area of practice that I’m interested in. Has anyone ever done this? I’m actually depressed and I really hate being given work now. I have ADHD. Please advise

In a tiny (only $52,000 in damages) litigation matter that should have been a simple trial on a simple issue (breach of contract), OC has filed 9 unsupportable motions, 7 of which had prayers for fees, including one claiming an ethics violation by me. All overruled. OC's latest brief in opposition to our motion to compel is a 13-page, babbling, word-salad mess with 126 pages of exhibits. It does not address our arguments and any 1L could have written a better brief. Judge should punish her!

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

Is it worth it to be certified // do the CFP or CFA? Does anyone have advice?

My VP keeps asking for next year’s roadmap but every week wants it formatted differently and it’s driving me crazy. They don’t seem to know what they want and I have so much else to do than tweak the layout and colors and notations a few times each week. When I’ve asked what format and level of info the CTO prefers, my VP says they don’t know and I need to be okay with ambiguity. I’m losing any patience and good will I had.

I left gecio and went to liberty mutual, but I’m not liking their way of evaluating claims. They rely heavily on Mitchell which is a pricing tool and their reductions are excessive. I’m thinking of switching back to Geico and was wondering if anyone has gone back to their previous carrier. I used to be a lit adjuster at gecio and now only handling soft tissue claims, which is extremely boring. I’m gonna be going through liberty’s litigation training at the end of June.
