Got an offer for Electronic Arts (EA) Manager for North America (Canada) remote for 100k base CAD, 15 percent bonus and around low 40ks RSU (assuming it's USD). How much higher can the base be in Canada for EA for a Manager role? Base seems low even at 110 CAD. It's a corporate role so not anything technical or product related. Most or all the more senior managers are in the USA. Electronic Arts (EA)

Plus you’re always on call
Dad here with a 15mo old and a newborn. I’d love to stay home but I feel other than love and fun, I couldn’t give them what they need. Our daycare is fantastic. They do things I’d never think of doing with our 15mo old. He hangs out with kids his own age all day, and it shows. If I give him a toy, the first thing he wants to do is share it with his baby sister. They’re instilling in him great qualities.
I do not, but lots of friends are starting to have them so I get bits and pieces of the daily struggle!
And the pay sucks
Too much work, yo.
On paternity leave with a 5 mo. old. Thought I wanted to be a stay at home dad, turns out I wanted to be a stay at home husband. Love the diabolical little goblin, but I'm not cut out for it.
I would do it. But the pay is rough
Everyday I am so thankful that my wife doesn’t work and can raise our kids. If she made the same as me I’d gladly trade places with her, but she has an English Lit BA, so it’s doubtful she’d get anything near $100k+
I have a history BA and make comfortably more than that...
I absolutely adore my kids, but it’s not for me. I think having a career and accomplishments away from home makes me a better mom!
No, I’m working towards “Stay at Home Dog Mom”. Maybe “Trophy Wife” but that might be too much work.
Yes!!! My dream!
Being a full time parent is not an easy job, but it can be very rewarding.
Hahah yeah I’m sure. I’m just cracking lame jokes. Feel free to ignore me like my parents did
Yeah but just a notch below “stay at home with parents”
Yess! If I have the means in a few years to quit and raise my family full time, I’d do it in a heartbeat
What about just being an in-town parent and ditching consulting? It’s possible to work and be there with the kids a ton. The travel takes it to a whole other level.
My husband is a SAHD. I think his days are more stressful and tiring than mine. But I have a nerdy love for work that he lacks.
That job isn’t vacant at the moment. If she’s getting shit-canned I’ll need to give her some notice and severance of some kind. Ideas please. Thanks.
Yeah but screw that pay!
You do you, lots of respect for men/women who choose to do this!
