Bain & Company What is the likelihood of making SAC in September 2022 if I join as an AC on April 18th at Bain & Company? I am a senior consultant at EY with 3.5 years of experience in Data Analytics. Or is March 2023 more realistic? They told me 6 months for promotion but it seems like the two promotion cycles with my different start dates give me 4 or 9 months of experience, nothing in between. I’ll be joining in the private equity group which will be new for me.
I'm having the last loop interviews with Amazon for an analyst position, but I'm realizing that it might not be the right place for me, I'm currently working at hpe and have a good balance, 11+ YOE, I'm not sure if it's really worth the effort. Can someone tell me about what level sales ops analyst job might be? I looked for range salaries and it looks like it is 55k for Germany, so not really much of what I'm earning now.
I read bad comments about the culture and the workload balance.

Tech skills: Apart from the office package, sql and python are strongly recommended since we shoulbe be increasingly data driven.
Management skills:
Project management skills and knowledge of the main frameworks (agile & waterfall, risk matrixes, RACI...) .
Soft skills:
Communication, being able to be very concise, efficient and structured.
Organization: Both in terms of time management, and documentation.
Thank you, very detailed & the insights on frameworks is something I will emphasise on. Appreciate your help!
Excel would probably be more useful, power point isn't too bad to learn over time. Most people joining consulting don't know the shortcuts at first, so if you got those down earlier on, it can help a lot
This is a good point, thank you!
Depends what level you are at , but I would recommend learning to build at least one data visualisation tool. For example PowerBi and Tableau.
If you are coming at a more senior level then it would be beneficial to understand how to speak through these and the “so what” for the client.
Thanks, I have been leaning towards Power BI & will definitely incorporate this into the preparations. Appreciate your help!
PowerBI, SQL, and Excel would be the 3 I would recommend. I’m in tech consulting, not risk, so there may be some differences there. I assume you are a campus hire since your start date is so far out. That said, I would relax and chill for a few months. Spend time with family and friends. Work life is a whole new world and you’ll learn what you need to learn through your engagements much better than through a classroom. But if you’re bored, the 3 I mentioned earlier would be what I’d look at first
