I strongly suggest talking to a therapist while you have health insurance with this job. They can guide you for next steps. Sounds like a boost to your self esteem could help.
Have a meeting with manager today about roles and responsibilities cus at one point I need that to be clear. BA is my role, but if I'm doing all of that on top of BA I've been putting documentation aside and I wanna know what his thoughts are
if there is a will there is a way. Imagine that you are on sinking ship and the shore is 1000 yards away.
Option1: Stay and go down with the ship
Option2: You're not a good swimmer, and 1000 yards is far.
If you go with option 2, the worst is you drown, same as option 1. At least option 2, you know you died trying to get to the shore.
Well, it's worth the risk if you ask me.
How many years of experience do you have? Taking a break (if you can afford it) might not be the worse idea if you feel it would help your mental health.
Log story short, patchy past due to circumstances outside my control that I wouldn't mention in an interview, and due to them also can't afford a break.
I seem senior on my resume (8 years) but I fall short on multiple aspects in terms of how I present myself to leadership down to budgeting and some aspects of planning, though I fulfill a people leader/chief of staff type of roles
I suggest setting boundaries and talking to your manager about this. It’s unacceptable for one person to take this much responsibility on.
Do not talk to your manager
Update your resume, network, and start looking. Best of luck.
Wish that's been my experience. I think I need to leave the HR space and considering working hard to leave the HR space for good
Yo, so much experience it doesn’t have to be just a product you saying is a niche product but the experience that you’ve learned through your career can help you at any job you know what it means it’s all about the transferrable skills that you have developed so good luck in your job hunting if you were leaving.
It's SAP's workforce suite and payroll looool
I am sure you have a lot of transferable skills. Just zero in on the job that you would like to aim for and only add exp related to that job and prep to discuss only those activities in the interview
Want to add that does not matter what the product is doing r if it’s in niche or if anyone or how many people used
Not job related but incorporating some daily exercise, preferably outdoors, could certainly help you feel better. We have to keep our bodies moving
Ended up ripping my muscles but I should probably push myself to try and walk even if it's 15 min
Hang in there, job market is at it worst. Take some time off and go to the gym to refresh.
Hey there, I'm so sorry you feel like this. You're doing the right thing in asking for help. I have some suggestions for you. In no particular order:
* Take some PTO and completely disconnect from work. At least a week if you can. 2 weeks would be better at this point.
* Get a therapist. Seriously, find someone that you can talk with on the regular and give you tools (coping skills) that will help you through this and future situations.
* After you've disconnected from work for several days, think about the kind of work that you would prefer to do. What about the current role do not like? What do you still like? What kind of environment? What are the 3 most important things about your next role? What are the 3 things you just will not put up with in your next role?
My point to the last section is to help you guide yourself to find your next role vs just taking whatever pops up and finding yourself in the same position. Answer those kinds of questions for yourself and then go look for jobs that fit those questions.
Good luck and feel better.
This is really solid advice thank you!
I have been there. It's very hard. Take a small space of time to take steps forward (start 15 minutes a day) to do your resume, network, etc. and you will find your strength in that and moving out of your situation. Also, I when I was in that kind of situation, I reminded myself that what I have done is the right thing with the role and company I was in and that there are toxic people/toxic environments or whatever is not my making. Move to a place where you can feel valued.
Start looking for a new or different role/employer while trying to address your concerns with your current manager. Your product probably isn't worthless if the company is still supporting it.
Apply to Spectrum. I sounded just like you, I started working at Spectrum, working in a fantastic environment, making big money. I wish I had this job since college. I am the happiest I've ever been.
I feel you.
Start looking - it may take a while and keep your nose clean, keep maximizing your comp, investments, etc.
Would anyone be open to giving me feedback on my resume? Most of my professional circle is abroad and I really need help. I suck at reaching out overall
