Prefacing this with the disclaimer that I only started several months ago so maybe I’m missing something Definitely was interested in the “consulting lifestyle” during recruiting but I think if I were given the choice I would do remote forever with a big reason being that I think I have more time for stuff I like. If I have downtime now I can ride my bike, go hit golf balls, cook, whatever which would not be options if I were traveling or even just working in an office. Thoughts?

I don’t belong in my job. I didn’t mind it when I joined in January and was interacting but as we’ve been work from home longer, the less motivation I have. I don’t enjoy the work but I’ve gotten unlucky with my teams too, and can’t remember the last time my manager praised me without a critique. Maybe I’m just bad at my job. At this point I just am doing the bare minimum to not get fired. What do I do? Should I look for a job that I actually would enjoy doing or stick it out?

Working in my office used to be my primary source of work outfit inspiration but since working remote staying aware of what styles are in is nearly impossible. I live in a smallish town, so going out doesn't help fill in that awareness gap. Are there any online communities or slack communities where people talk about and share style inspiration I can wear at work? I'm 28, work in tech, and my office is a start up, so attire is casual. I'd also be interested in brands people follow.

How to deal with MIL and husband’s side of the family who will never fully understand that I’m just as busy and work just as much as my husband? Background: both in big law, both doing WFH. He’s more senior than me, his work hours are more constant; I’m a corporate attorney and my hours ebb and flow. I feel like his family doesn’t take my job as seriously (or when I say my hours are unpredictable and demanding), expects me to be both a housewife and work while doing WFH. Husband is great tho

Okay so it’s my first week in a new career for a new company. I wanted to make a good impression so I stayed a little later to do some catch up before finding my way to a hotel (since I’m waiting for my apartment approval) but I fell asleep and woke up hours later with no one here and the lights out. I don’t want to accidentally trigger any security alarms trying to leave, but I also don’t want them to catch me spending the night here and assume the worst. How should I go about this?
