How do you ignore all of the white noise in the stock market world? What do you pay attention to and stick to?

My boyfriend and I make 200K combined and live in NJ. We have $1000 in monthly car payments combined. That’s all we owe. Our credit scores are in the 800s. We have 50K to put down on a home. We have done the math and I know we can afford much more but he doesn’t want to buy more than a 400K home. I’m almost positive we can afford 500K and be more than ok. But then he starts to talk about how much kids cost and how we will be house poor and we won’t be able to afford kids. 🤔 Am I insane??

I graduated last year and was promised a full time salary of 60k (marketing). However, my start date was exactly when Covid hit hard and everyone froze their hiring process and took salary cuts, so my company cut my TC in half. I was loyal to my company and it didn’t hit hard until now. They’re starting to hire many more people in a diff department which makes me think they have the budget now. How should I start and navigate this conversation? Thanks in advance 🙏🏼

Seen a lot of “my company is so amazing posts” continuously on LinkedIn a la “here at XYZ we give people lots of time off and it’s amazing” or even “so happy XYZ company allowed me to take maternity/paternity leave” - are folks just trying to look like team players or do employees get some sort of incentive for doing this at companies? I feel like the folks I see that work at Salesforce (for example) do this constantly and more so than other big companies.

Does ESPP make sense? Most companies deduct a portion from monthly paycheck to accrue over a period and then do the purchase at offering end. During this period of time, most tech stocks would already appreciated anyway to offset the 15% discount. Anyone with me?

I've recently graduated from masters (1YOE) in Canada, and managed to start in a medium-senior role (business intelligence developer, 71k a year). Similar job offers I receive pay 90k-100k a year.

How do people in tech set up their banking? I have a primary bank account where my earnings have gone for the last 8 years. I always get promotions to open new bank accounts with other institutions for some cash reward. Is there any point to opening multiple accounts with diff banks? Kind of seems like a hassle but might be some advantage that I don’t know of
