Hi fishes, thinking for switching to other consulting firms. Current job at EY requires too much travel. So, I wanted to know travel policies of other firms before making the switch. Do employees get to travel business/ first class or it is economy only for both domestic and international? How good is company policy for ground transport, hotels and meals?

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. I was offered $42k plus bonuses at the interview, but when called back I was offered $44.5k plus bonuses. I already accepted. Did I leave money on the table here?

I was working at a Hotel one night & I saw a man appearing on two different floors, then in the stairwell. The man was in his 70’s or 80’s. He was wearing nothing but tidy whiteys. When he got to the front desk I asked “is everything alright? I work for a big organization that claims a resident felt disrespected when he came down to pick up his guest. This phantom resident sent a letter, unsigned and miraculously landed in HR’s box to which we had a meeting about. I never saw the letter but written up.

Waiting to hear from an in house job and received another offer from a firm - it seems highly likely that the in house job will give an offer but would it be acceptable to reach out and inform them of this pending offer to gauge their timeline?
