Agree 100% But having that mutherZucker say “Metaverse” was the smartest thing his PR team has ever done.
The media immediately stopped harassing the company about its less-than-stellar actions, inactions, and policies, and instead, lost their mind over the buzzword and ran with… It was like watching a dog play fetch.

Big rich companies hate profits. It leads to too much tax. I’m sure “Meta” is doing just fine financially.

Look, the #1 reason this VR business won't work out is common sense: Name one person who spent any time on their hair or makeup who wants to mess it up for a 30-minute Metaverse get together. For instance, anyone with curly hair will hate using a VR headset. <sarcasm>Knots and matting? Wow! Awesome!</sarcasm>
I personally have a dedicated VR headband. Goes great with my Google glasses and my Rollerblades 🤠
Portions of the industry keeps insisting that the metaverse is the next big thing, but every kid in my family and that I’m encountering is saying they’re sick of being online all the time and want to do stuff in real life.
So if Facebook growth is slowing to a crawl because its core users are agin, and the next few generations are tiring of the whole headset and VR world thing and yearning for real life instead, where does that leave Meta?
It doesn't. And if we're all being honest with ourselves, we've been hoping something would replace it since they started letting our geriatric aunt's post on our timelines.
