When your company and your CSR both reimburse you $100 for the Global Entry program and you make out $100 on top.
Folks who have applied for L1A in the past - what do you respond when questioned about budgetary authority? I understand that this would be the expense budget on my clients which I’m managing, but not sure if I’m missing anything else

Do you expense a team member's birthday cake?
Just got audited for expense and they are saying that I'll owe approximately $3,500-$4,000. Has anyone ever gone through this process before? What generally happens next?

I will be joining Google in 2 weeks and want to keep my current Corp number. Does google reimburse for a personal cell or do I have to get a corporate phone ? Also is there a preferred provider in USA?
I'll be renovating my house (gut all existing bathrooms and kitchen, extend house to make room for an extra bathroom). It's currently my primary residence but I likely have to move in early 2022 to another city where I also own a house and then I plan to rent my current residence via Airbnb. What should I consider from a tax perspective? For example, if my current residence becomes an investment property before or when I renovate, does the renovation count as a tax deductible expense?
Anyone here invest in index funds? I’m thinking about VTSAX but FXROX has no expense fees so it looks enticing. But I hear most people rave about VTSAX

Can you expense mileage when you take public transportation (costs the same as commuting to office) to client’s site?
Has anyone moved from a H/MCOL city to a small town or rural area? Any regrets in regards to career progression, networking, or lack thereof? I'm thinking of making the move this winter in order to cut my housing expense by more than half and to put my daughter in better Catholic school. My employer doesn't care where we live so long as we can get to an airport. I grew up in a small town, so it wouldn't be a shock to me, just worried about how it may affect my career trajectory.
Does your firm reimburse mileage related to driving into the office to work overtime on a weekend? EY does, how about the other firms?
Do you think I could expense a weekly meal delivery service (it’s precooked - just have to microwave it) during busy season? Would be delivered to the office and is cheaper than ordering in.

Question mainly for those who made the move from Agency to Client roles. How did you initially make the switch: - recruiter/headhunter - job aggregator site such as LinkedIn or Indeed - specific specialist site (would love to know details) - found and applied for role directly on company site - through personal/professional connection - other (details, if you'd be so kind)

Curious about how many hours plaintiffs litigation attorneys work on average per week. I’m a defense attorney and billable hours don’t make for the best work life balance. Thanks in advance.
Got an intracompany transfer offer for US and Australia - where should I head? Longterm goal: live in the US and work in tech (esp. Google). US offer: L1B visa, not transferable to other companies. Greencard uncertain. TC n/a but probably 🥜 Australia: work visa transferable, Sydney or Melbourne. Work in AU, switch to Google -> relocate to US. TC probably 🥜 too
no swag bags this year for departing GSAPers, what’s even the point if i can’t rock a sick daddy D patagucci at b-school
Working as an audit staff in big 4 shared service centre. It's been 2 years. I really don't like what I do there, also it seems I won't like what I'll be doing there even after becoming senior. Thinking of leaving and joining industry once ACCA qualified. (One more paper left). But people around me discourage that growth potential and earnings in industry are way less compared to public accounting. I know that too but I still want to leave. I'd like to stick to core accounting. Thoughts pls
If Trump is re-elected, healthcare will be gone and covid will stay for 4 more years causing suicides from depression and more deaths! But don’t worry, it’s all fake news and a hoax!
I’m 30 years old and have been running my own (small) agency over the past two years, working with local businesses. I’ve got a solid book of client and spec work, with creative ad copy. I’ve also written for Sports Illustrated, so I can write anything from articles to ad copy. Before that, I worked in communications at a few law firms. Now I’m looking to work at an ad agency as a copywriter. Honest question: is it a reach to pursue that? And, if it isn’t a reach, do I apply for entry-level?
My friend is looking to hire auditors with financial services background (2-5 years) into a tri-State area fund! If anybody is looking for that type of role, happy to help connect a fellow PA and help them get a big raise and better work-life balance :)
