stranded outside the US on OPT, working remotely on US payroll. If I’m stuck for over a year can I transfer back on L1? Do I have to be on non-US payroll for a year or just outside the US physically?

I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October.
