Poorly
One thing that helps tremendously is flying Monday night instead of Monday morning. It's a game changer. Ask / try if you can!
Completely agree with E2. If you want stay in Consulting longer or are stuck on a travel project, the following helps me: Exercise, meditation, making a healthy dinner, connect with friends, etc. Do something meaningful that will get you in the right mindset. I used to drink and eat unhealthy on Sundays bc I had anxiety about the week ahead / was hungover, but I've found that the more I make my health and wellbeing a priority, the better I am able to deal with the extremely early Monday mornings and the sometimes tough work week ahead. I've found this to be true with all things in life.

I do laundry. It helps.
I am the engagement Manager also have done the Morning travel many years and now with experience people don't scrutinize that much, m Sr Mgr travels Tuesday morning, so most times I have control over it. I schedule meetings Monday morning so I can tell them I need to fly in the evening to take this (this depends on the client it may backfire and they may ask you to come Sunday). On a deeper level, all I can tell you as fellow well wisher.... don't take up a traveling job - it's messes with health routine, food, relationship, sleep and adds expense administration. Find something you love and find a job locally and build a life there you love.
Thanks ey2 - I think that's the reality that most of us travelers avoid acknowledging. :(
My roommates and I made Sunday night a movie night. Pack for the week, dinner, movie, bed. It's been working so far
Not worried about the flight. Only been on this project for a couple of weeks so just still stressed about vibing with the team, my deliverables, making mistakes, etc. My last project was local and I feel like I can't unwind after work at my hotel - it's like 4 straight days of work.
Acn1 - that'll be later. 😉
Wine and Billions.
Ah yeah billions. Been meaning to get back into that. Don't like drinking on sundays because I def feel it at 5a.
Xanax
Ahh the Sunday scaries. What specific parts of your week are you concerned about? No worries about tomorrow, just get up early enough and you can mitigate that.
Then how do you worry?
I do Monday evenings too... I can't get up in the morning - I am not a morning person
How'd you pull Monday evenings? Did you just ask?
Medication helps but starting a new role tomorrow. I am trying not to think about it.
Don't think about it at all until 9pm when you pack for your trip
So, high?
