Strong consulting background at H/S. Applied for MBB NYC internship and got only 1 interview invite (failed to convert final round). Both career center and ex-MBB classmates are shocked. Any insights why others got more interviews than me?

What are the best consulting firms for strategy that are non-MBB? Not implementation and such

guys recently had very bad experience with GS labs, they interview you desperately saying it’s urgent requirement and then give feedback it’s positive and after few days say we can’t consider you.

Getting intrigued by corp dev.. how common is corp dev as an exit from MBB, vs corporate strategy? Do Bain ppl not like hiring bcg/McKinsey for roles? I’ve come across at least 5 companies where the entire team is ex Bain and no one else. But when I see bcg/mck the teams are much more evenly distributed.
