I'm working in a company that I like, but I'm been quite underpaid. We recruited a new recruiter with a salary 25% more than the one I'm in. I've been approached by other companies, but I wouldn't like to leave, the only reason I would consider moving to a new job is the salary. Should I be open and discuss it with my LM? The formal salary review process is approaching in 2 months, but no way I could get a good salary increase in the formal process, I believe the max could be 6%-7%.

Is Visa expected to have any layoffs due to the recession? Asking b/c I have a small workload.

Anyone else really feeling the social isolation this weekend? It’s been almost a month since I saw another person (re-entering more stringent lockdowns where I am) and not being able to see family for the holidays is hitting hard. I work in a start-up - and the founder keeps wanting to see design progress day by day and I feel like am rushed and not given time develop design concepts to their potential. And because of that, I am forced to show them where am at, and then they start nitpicking every little thing in the screens designed even though I myself haven't fully finalised them

I have over 10 years experience in design/marketing. The companies I worked for are small businesses (Less than 100 employees) so I’ve had to wear many hats (e-mail, print, social media management & ads, and very little google analytics and ads). I’m considering a change in career and would like to work fully-remote. I feel inadequate for the current workplace. I know no UX/UI, relatively no web design, no video experience. Is it imposter syndrome? Any tips or recommendations?

I've been unemployed for close to 2 years now and by the end of this month I will have exhausted all my resources/savings which have been keeping me afloat all this time. I've always worked as an inhouse designer with a salary and now Im doing webpage design for clients. What would you say is an average rate for webpage design?

I need some thoughts on what to ask for a starting salary. My background is ten years in tech support, and currently Lead Graphic Designer for my department with about four years of graphic design behind that. I also just finished my master's degree in Human Computer Interaction design (and was among the top in my class). I’m curious if there are any designers out there that still tell the youth of today that college is a great idea to become a designer. Anyone? And if so, why?

So I work as a freelancer for an agency. And I have another client outside of that agency. I work between figma files and sometimes use components across files but change and redesign them to fit the project. My manager in the agency was able to "go to main component" and see my other client's project which included some of the agency's icons (they downloaded them online) and some basic tabs and drop shadows components. I feel busted but I shouldn't but can't get over the embarrassment.

Finally got my first role as a UX Designer! Extremely excited and wanted to thank everyone that helped me out with questions and input!

In an internal where the other designer’s option in objectively not as good as mine. I swear it’s not my ego talking. But the CD seems to give more praise to her. Why does that happen? Is it over compensation? Anyone have the same experience? Would love a CD’s POV.
