I just feel like some of these tiny no name schools charge absurd tuition for little return in terms of job prospects, and now we are seeing a righting of the ship. Not to mention University admin departments are so incredibly bloated already. Purely anecdotal but SO is a PhD student at a state university and the president emailed warning of potential cuts to grad student stipends...but then courageously volunteered a 15% pay cut. The guy makes 650K a year, what a effin hero...
Lol that kinda sounds like what the BIG4 accounting firm did 🤔🧐
I’ve been anticipating the burst of the education bubble for years and continually disappointed- tuition goes up and up for no reasonable reason and there are more schools than are needed. Finally this may drive some change.
Would be an amazing opportunity to cut the bloated administration that's developed over the last few decades. Same for the corporate world, but unfortunately the people profiting from the bs are the ones making the cuts, so I'm afraid this won't be much of a chance to cull the herd, except as it might actually sink some very small liberal arts schools
