Struggling to write bullets for my resume. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to go to for good examples?

Love it lol

What are you proud of accomplishing?

I could note all the things in my performance reviews (hours saved, automations, high-tier ratings), but I’m not sure where the line is when it comes to what you should actually list on a resume. Does that make sense

smart

Word resume templates. They got a thing that connects you to what people put on LinkedIn or something

AICPA has some resume workshop materials

I believe in the philosophy of learning from other's experiences, success stories, mistakes and regrets while keeping in mind that similar set of life events may unfold into totally different ways/outcomes for others as there are always too many variables in the equation called LIFE. People may arrive at different destinations at different times while being on the almost similar path.

That being said-

I going to my first in person conference since the pandemic. It’s Thursday and Friday. I was thinking about business casual on Thursday (light colored pants and black blazer). Would jeans be okay for Friday? I know as a law student I always looked super formal at any conference but would it still be needed as a practicing attorney?

Officially burned out of audit. ✌🏼 Any interesting jobs out there with a 40 hour work week that wouldn’t be too outlandish to move into from audit? Happy with any “unusual” suggestions too.

Hey everyone! I am a CPA, started at PwC, now the assistant controller at a small/medium sized Ag company. Thus far, the plan has been to follow the CFO path. But recently I have been longing for more social/client facing interactions. I am very extroverted. I love meeting and connecting with new people and would like to incorporate that into my career. Any thoughts on possible career paths that would combine my experience in accounting with a more socially fulfilling job?

Thanks I’m advance!

Has anyone left to go to a startup/early stage company? I’m interviewing for a role I’m excited about at a company that is aligned with my values and the chance to do finance and operations (I’m in audit, new senior). I’m nervous about making the leap from big 4 with an established culture and generally stable employment to what is essentially a giant question mark. What are some good questions or indications to get a sense of if it’s a going to be a good opportunity or a total mess?

I’m going crazy in Audit, I’m an A2. I think I’m going to try and transition to consulting. Would it be smarter to stay within the firm or go to a new one, and is there a half-step I should take (such as going to TAS for a year or so) before going into consulting? I just want more exposure to companies I work on than just the audit, it doesn’t feel like stuff I’ll be using in 5 years (but I’d be happy to be proven wrong on that). Business strategy/biz dev is catching my interest recently.

Just got an offer in a boutique firm to do civil litigation. I am currently in tax, so I have no experience whatsoever. What kind of questions have you been asked in interviews? I’m being invited back for a second interview for a Sr. Accountant position. The first one was very conversational.

Do you feel it is OK when applying for a position to oversell how excited your are for the opportunity in order to be able to move to the following rounds in order to learn more about the company/culture. Or should someone try to be genuine from the start?
