How to feel like you’re not old at 26?
I've worked at the same engineering firm for 4 years. I'm currently making $161k with only a $750 bonus, but excellent vacation (4 weeks, cash out anytime, rolls over indefinitely), 45 hours a week. I have an interview with a recruiter at Guidehouse this week for a Technical Project Manager role. It seems to be focused in the government space and requires a security clearance. What sort of salary and benefits could I expect for this sort of role at Guidehouse?

The issue is that tech firms have generally faced a tight labor market. A lot of B4 etc. rely on the past ie “name” and haven’t woken up to new the new reality.
The new reality is that you work at at B4 because you couldn’t get into a FAANG, then after a few years you try again. Leadership brags about “alumni” but that is spin, people became successful because/when they left.
In a few more years people will turn down partnerships or roles because it means they won’t be able to work for a top tier form. Or take the offer and use it to leverage for something in their new role.
no, i never wanted to work in tech and never even applied...
