SAME BOAT. But you switched as an associate? Why? Did you get a signing bonus? If so, check your offer and make sure you don’t have to pay it back if you quit before a certain amount of time.
My advise, look into transferring to a consulting role at your current firm.
I guess it depends. I switched as a associate and felt like I made a great decision. Either way. I would say it depends on your relationship with your old firm. I’ve heard of some go back to their old firm within 6 months recognizing it was a mistake to leave
Conventional wisdom says to give it at least one year. I tend to agree. Looks better in the resume, and who knows, you may end up enjoying it
Yeah I switched as well from regional and the thing I’ve hated the most is how “specialized” the work is in big 4, don’t get to touch on a lot of areas like I did before. It’s been better since getting promoted and getting a better understanding of the methodology but I still miss my last job. Hang in there a few more months and switch back if you have to (or even better, jump to industry)! Best of luck
What don’t you enjoy about the new firm
Which firm to which firm?
Switched from a regional firm to KPMG. Spent 2.5 years at my old firm and wanted the “big4” experience. Just can’t see myself doing audit or a controller type function for the long remainder of my career
