Such a great chart depicting what the early months of motherhood is really like.
It doesn't take into account cooking, cleaning, groceries, other children, lack of partner support, lack of financial issues, pandemic nanny issues, nothing else actually major.
But for all of you who think Maternity Leave is a "vacation", this is a great reality check.

Both of mine are broken too. But it’s past the return date.

Very optimistic chart.

This is incorrect, there’s no free time until they move out of the house.

I’d be upset if I paid for a nanny yet my chart looked like that. I’d want my money back. I’d also ask for a new financial advisor and perhaps a divorce.

I agree. My first year was nothing like this and much more chaos than depicted here. But it was nice to see a chart that actually bothered to portray 1% of the crazy.

Our baby is due soon so we’ve made the decision that we will only have visits from vaccinated family members (not realizing it would be an issue) only to find out that my Dad will never be getting vaccinated, planned to lie about it AND asked other family members lie to us about his vaccination status too… when we found out and asked him about it, he started to FREAK out. Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??

Do you record your unbillable time? I have had conflicting responses. I have been told it's not good for efficiency calculations but others have told me if your still doing work let people know. I have been told not to bill for this but if I didn't have to spend time to do such things my billable hours would be higher

I’m currently at a medium sized tech startup. I was interviewing for a role that would be a bump in pay and title at a multinational public F50 company. At first, the hiring manager and head of legal were very complementary about my experience. Almost too much so. After a week of interviews with the team (softball-esq), I was informed that if I wanted to join, they would bring me on at a lower title. I’m not sure about comp yet. But if comp is still an increase + experience at a public..
