Suggestions for good baby music? So far we just have best of raffi on repeat. Other artists/albums/sources of baby music you’d suggest?

Agree with D1. It‘s important to me and my husband that we provide exposure to a wide range of music to our daughter, so we listen to whatever we want (and I’ve never listened to Raffi). My 4yo currently loves the Hamilton soundtrack and Vivaldi’s Four Seasons (classical music) 🤷🏻‍♀️

We’ve been listening to 5 little ducks (YouTube) on repeat for basically 7 months. 😅

Little baby bum. We didn’t remember any nursery rhymes, and he loves them

We also listened to a lot of Vered (on Spotify) and Lisa Loeb’s children’s radio station on Amazon Music.

Any music that I would listen to. My eldest loved the Beatles from about 8 months on. I’ve never bought any baby specific music, but we’ve always had music going in the house, usually what we prefer and is appropriate for the mood we want at the moment (e.g., no Metallica at bedtime, U2’s Joshua Tree is a better fit)

Soothing. Music. Would be Kevin kern or pandora toddler music has great songs you can do with baby like wheels on the bus etc

Agree with D1. My son (2 m) listens to whatever we listen to incl random spotify playlists where you dont know whats coming next

Philadelphia Chickens! It’s famous people (like Laura Linney), sing songs to Sandra Boynton stories

There’s a group (person?) called Rock-A-Bye Baby that create lullaby renditions of all different types of music; Metallica, Queen, Beatles, Beyoncé, Hamilton.. it’s a nice way to sooth them but avoid the same songs over and over. My kiddo also would sleep to reggae and Dave Matthews Band, so I recommend trying a really random assortment to see what he/she likes!

D4, little Baby Bum makes me look like an awesome mom because i know all the lyrics to “three little kittens”... i also straight love the number/bubble song... I sing it a lot. We sing all the time at our house from Little Baby Bum nursery rhymes to Justin Bieber (seriously baby loves it) to dirty rap.

Feeling like my firm has a very outdated parental leave policy (and none of the women partners have children)! What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm (city, state); (3) how many paid weeks off from firm (not state/fed benefits); (4) other policies such as ramp up/down time, etc.

Alright moms. 4th kid in daycare and this one just won’t nap. We send a portable white noise machine and she has a lovey. But she apparently has serious FOMO. I’ve asked them to move her to the furthest corner. Then moved her to the younger baby room. But I’m out of ideas. 11 months old (10 mo adjusted). I had chalked it up to just starting at daycare but we are almost 2 months in. She’s a hot mess in the evenings. What magic do you have for me. All of my others fell in a routine by now!

My husband and I have been wanting to start “trying” for a baby for a while now. However, I’m unhappy in my current role and would like to make a jump somewhere else. I have a few early interviews lined up but it’s still early days and no telling where they’ll go. Is it silly to put off trying until I find a new job? On the contrary, is it problematic if I accept a new role down the line while a few months pregnant? Either route feels like a compromise. Appreciate any input from mamas out there.

Let's get a thread going of parental leave policies? What's the parental leave policy at your agency

Just got an offer at ACN as a Strategy Manager and HR made it clear that parental leave was 2 weeks fully paid for men. Theoretically up until 12 weeks is covered by NY State ($900 weekly). What would you do? Have you seen men take a few months off for parental leave in consulting even if unpaid?

What are our thoughts about physically fighting a belligerent woman as a man? Genuinely curious, I'm a Male and had a woman get physically aggressive with me yesterday and I could tell she was about to throw hands. Luckily the situation was de-escalated. But it got me thinking I have no idea what I would've done if she out her hands on me... My personal opinion used to be never put my hands on a woman unless my child or family is in danger or if she had a weapon But now Idk anymore

I’m looking for assistance on building your own portfolio in my traditional 401K. I’ve been reading that it’s important to choose funds with low expense ratios. Also, that it is recommended to have at least one US stock, international stock , and bond. I am 24yo so ideally, I’d want to allocate 90%-100% to stocks and 0%-10% to the bond. Went out this weekend for my cousin’s 21st bday. My cousin ended up getting super sick, throwing up at the bar, etc. my buddy and his gf came to the same bar (they were celebrating gf’s bday). Seeing my cousin in a bad state I decided to take her home. My buddy’s gf got super mad at me and my gf for wanting to care for my cousin. She then gave a half assed apology saying she was annoyed at the situation. I don’t really know how to bring this up to my friend. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thinking about a career change from insurance defense to district attorney. It will be a SIGNIFICANT decrease in income for the first few yrs, but I can't think of any other "con." I don't like what I'm doing & think I'd like being a prosecutor. Pros for me include more trial experience/client contact, less hours & more time for a future family, no billing, no travel, loan forgiveness, and generally feeling like I'm actually helping people. Has anyone done this? Thoughts?
