Random question but do you let your kids hang out in your bedroom and use your master bath if applicable? My kids always seem to want to use our bathroom instead of theirs and my spouse doesn't care but I grew up with my parent's room basically being off limits and think I'd prefer it that way.
Hi. I have a question. In a world where COVID is under control, how would you feel if your companies went back to being fully in the office? But maybe others were adopting a hybrid model- some days remote, some days in the office. Would it make you want to work elsewhere? How important is being able to work remote (at a location of your choice, not at client /travelling) a few days a week to your job satisfaction?
Had two interviews, second was late last week before the COVID stuff kicked in. The recruiter who was very responsive has gone silent, ignoring my last two emails. Can't tell if it's me or the virus.
What is KPMG's parental leave policy for partners versus employees (MDs and below)? Trying to plan life and figure out if it makes a difference to have a child before or after one makes partner in terms of parental leave benefits. Thanks!
I'm not a mom yet (don't kick me out of the group!) but have been going through fertility and IVF treatments for more than 6 months. I'm constantly having bloodwork, appointments and calls with the doc during working hours. Any advice on what I can and should tell my team about my health? They can tell I'm in and out of the doctor's office and I suspect they think I'm pregnant. Maybe it's being chock-full of hormone pills, but I'm sensitive about everyone thinking I'm pregnant when I'm not.
I’m pregnant and have been at my job for a few months to qualify for the state family leave which is only 4 weeks. I’m wondering what others have done to prolong their maternity leave when starting a new job.
How much do I get to travel in EY SaT (under normal non-covid conditions). Specifically VME group.
Just started working at a big law firm about 3 weeks ago in a completely different field than I expected nor wanted to be in (but I needed to start working asap). I’m just a baby lawyer but I can’t stop shaking the feeling that I don’t even want to be a lawyer. Is this just nerves? the environment? or is this an even normal feeling?
How do you teach a 4 yo when they start to lie? Today, my kid quickly put his lunch back into his box when his teachers turned around and lied to his teachers that he finished his food. They were even praising him on how quickly he finished his lunch today. And told us also that he finished all his food as well.
Big decision. Took a job at a small org/higher level with shot to GC to develop my strategic/team building skills. Turns out that’s not the role. I’m micromanaged, under-utilized, & stagnating- no real development, but it’s SUPER easy, good pay, nice folks. Recruiter called &, Hello, offer. Different industry, more pay, work, development, opportunities to grow into F500 parent. I know I should be satisfied with decent $ & an easy job. What’s wrong with me? What to do?
Hi Moms- Curious to get a sense of what your different parental leave policies look like and how you have liked them. My company gave 12 weeks paid and I felt it was woefully short for my first. Before having my second, I'm interested in pushing my company to increase the time and am curious to hear what other companies offer. Beyond just the time, was your company flexible? Is it the same for all parents? Did it feel like enough? Thank you!
Has anyone else taken a hit to their work confidence during covid? I tell myself that just because I’m bad at WFH doesn’t mean I’m necessarily bad at this job. But I’m a junior, so I don’t even know if that’s true.
Reminds me of my train ride commute before Covid.
COVID-19 to 45 🥴
I’m quitting after returning from maternity leave. I’ll go back for at least 1 month first (March). It’s the right thing for my family but I feel bad because I got hired pregnant, worked (see below)
Do any other women go batshit crazy when you have a new potential love interest? I.e. extensive social media research, turning it over and over in your head to gauge various scenarios, over analyzing compatibility from their traits and various scenarios? I can chalk some of it up to COVID boredom since I wasn’t this crazy when I had stuff to do, but some overthinking has always been there.
Thinking about staying married but living a separate life because we have a kid. So technically , being roommates until we can figure out what to do next. Pros and cons ?
How long are you considered a “baby lawyer”?
Deloitte is now recruiting me after laying me off with a covid separation. Uncle D, where were you when I needed you most…?
What do directors expect from junior creatives? I’m currently collaborating on a commercial with a senior copywriter and they are cranking out scripts like a factory. And I’m just not moving at that speed. And it’s making me question if I’m under performing or if this is something that will come with time. I’ve only been in the role and the industry a few months now. But I’m feeling a bit discouraged. Is this imposter syndrome or do I need to reconsider my career?
I’m doing work on an RFQ for a project that’ll be in high-risk Zika virus place. Chances of winning are high, but I’m concerned about the risks and I’m not willing to postpone trying to conceive, Cont

As the post-COVID workplace is transforming the core essence of what’s most important to recruiting, retaining and developing talent (employees, consultants, hybrid type work), what are the core one or two “MVPs”- - (Most Valuable Professional-Personal) ‘essentials’ you require for your ideal career-life design blueprint?
What would you say are the less technical roles within analytics that someone 2-4 years into their analytics consulting career should explore? I love data analysis and helping clients adopt (cont'd)

How many of you are sending your kids to daycare? I’ve been on maternity leave and joining in the next few weeks. Planning to send the toddler to daycare and keep the baby home but freaking out if we get the virus home. We have pretty much been home these last few months. But I don’t know how me and my husband could possibly manage both kids while working from home. Anyone keep two kids home and manage work? Any tips ...

Slalom Consulting how is the culture and projects in the LA/Orange County and Denver office? Saw a few job postings that I think would be a good fit for me so trying to decide on where to apply.
Has anyone started traveling yet? Client’s city has not had an outbreak and I’m slated to travel soon. I’m fairly nervous and refuse to fly so looking at driving 5-6 hours. I also have a young kid and my husband works lengthy hours so I’m pretty apprehensive but don’t feel like I’m at liberty to decline travel.
Would you choose a lower offer for 160k TC (also bc one level lower) over a 200k TC offer if you genuinely thought the experiences gained at the first would benefit more in the long run? The first midmarket company has consistently grown ~30% each year, will reach $1B soon. The second is a slower growing multi-billion dollar company already. Concerned about personal growth also slowing with slower culture 5 yoe and current TC is 120k, so either is a nice bump
Any HoTS playees here? I find that one is easy to play once in a while on the road. If the interwebz at the hotel is decent.
